Thank you Thomas - indeed, I love my XF and I am privileged to drive one. Here in South Africa, you get your Jag with a 5 years/100 000 km maintenance plan. My business partners are also from Germany - I love the way you guys speak ;-)

You are absolutely right Thomas Schmitz!!! I loved my B6 and C5 Audi interiors - but after that, they became so flawlessly vulgar - I had no choice but to get myself a Jaaaggggg

I am not really into older cars - but you have to stop and appreciate the timeless elegance and sense of occasion of the W124's beautifully crafted interior. I can't understand why modern German (and most other) luxury cars cannot exude this kind of class? Is it something to do with the minimalist, uncluttered layout of the dash? Today, they just slap a tablet on the dash... there is no craftsmanship to the interior at all - it looks like a terrible afterthought.

2016 Audi S4 announced in Frankfurt with new V6 3.0 TFSI engine rated at 354 PS
No, Steet26 has a point. I uderstand subtle and restraint styling, indeed that is what an S4 is about - previous S-cars looked more special (inside and out) than this.

ergonomically flawed. Why the gear lever below the MMI knob? And that Mercedes-style tablet screen looks like an afterthought.... terrible!

2016 Jaguar XJ facelift revealed with new flagship Autobiography version
are you working on bringing back some of the retro looks of the old XJ? I love the current car, but I also have to agree with hms88. I miss that stately, plutocrat/prime-minister express - it just oozed class like nothing else.

Porsche Boxster Spyder spotted in the flesh
I saw one exactly a month ago here in South Africa. I was amazed to see it in the flesh, only a couple of days after seeing the first pictures online. That soft top, does not look very good though - a bit of a dissapointment - but I am sure it will be an awesome driver's car.

2016 Jaguar XE U.S. specifications announced
@buruchaga - the XE's design was never meant to be boobs and bikini - rather something restrained and elegant, that appeals to everyone. The latest reviews of the production XE came in last week - It is said that the XE has the ride quality of a C-class and better handling than a 3-series - praise does NOT get any higher than that. if you think Germany is still the title holder, think again.

2016 Jaguar XE U.S. specifications announced
you are wrong - it was Jaguar that invented the compact executive market in the 1950s with the Mark II - your beloved C-class and 3-series came decades later. You used "Jaguar" and "no-cache" in the same sentence? HAH

Range Rover to remain Land Rover's flagship, won't launch an all-new model to battle Bentley
JLR owns the Daimler brand - maybe they could resurrect it for something very exclusive - but not as a stand-alone brand. We all know what happened to Maybach. Maybe a Ranger Rover "Daimler" edition ? The same way Mercedes S-class "Maybach" is now the of the top of the range S-Class.

2016 Jaguar XF officially revealed [videos]
agreed. It does not have that shock and awe factor the first gen had. It is undoubtly going to be brilliant - but I wish it was sharper on the outside. To me, it looks more like a facelift on the facelift of the first gen.

2016 Jaguar XF officially revealed [videos]
I expected more. Not as groundbreaking as the first XF when it was launched back in 2007. They are doing what Audi/BMW/VW are notorious for - they dumb down the styling for the next generation. They started with the XE, now this. I will most likely buy it, with my head, less so with my heart.

2016 Jaguar XF interior revealed, debuts March 24th
@Alfa - I agree with you, the XE rear is too generic and even too Audi - but I don't think it is fair to say that Jaguars as a whole looks German. How do you suggest Jaguar looks like in the year 2015? They have to be modern, and modern does not mean "german". The point is, German cars look modern, and Jaguar is also allowed to look modern. "dull" is the last word I would use to describe Jaguar's current design language. The F-Type is a sports car that is all about emotion - the 3-series/A4/C-class/XE design should be less "provocative" and more "conservative" to appeal to a many different buyers. Unlike the germans, Jaguar cars are still distinct and elegantly styled.

2016 Jaguar XF interior revealed, debuts March 24th
I have lost count how many times you have said "this doesn't look british" over the years - what is your idea of Britain and Jaguar anyway? old, grumpy, conservative people, that lost the use of some of their body parts? If it "doesn't look very British" - then how does it look like? German? Certainly and thank goodness NOT! You are also incredibly biased towards Alfa - You have not even seen the next XF exterior yet - and you are already commenting on how a future Alfa (which you haven't seen either) will be more beautiful.

2015 Audi R8 breaks cover
Audi is the only car manufacturer I know that gives us something really awesome once in a while and then makes the next version boring and dumbed-down - TT, A4, Q7 and now the R8.... This car just doesn't capture the imagination the way the first R8 did...and this coming from someone that only drove Audis not so long ago. Next up is another boring A4 - I don't know why they even bother using camouflage on their prototypes - hopefully their new guy that did the Prologue will make them go back to their roots and give us cars that are true to Bauhaus design philosophy with that futuristic element they once had.
