Skoda......is on the roll for sure. If the quality and refinement levels of the superb is anything to go by, then this has to be a renaissance for this once highly conservative Czech. Way to go...

VAG’s 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 now being investigated by EPA
All said and done, Europe still produces the world's most awesome diesels.....whether its a 75 MW two stroke behemoth for Emma Maersk or a lively 1.5 ltr 3 potter in an odd run off the mill BMW 1 Series. Truth be told, small diesels are facing a huge battle even in Europe itself(like in France), but the technology keeps up and they continue to outsell petrol motors. Even so, if say aviation authorities followed the trend of these earthly bound government emission bodies, we'd be back to hot air balloons, no less. I wonder if the same rigors are applied on emissions from trucking rigs across the US ?

Range Rover Sentinel introduced as SVO’s first armored vehicle
3.0 Litre V6 supercharged for a barge pushing 3.5 tons like this one is a serious joke. One of the security features to go with armor protection is to incorporate some spurious get-up-go from a lusty power plant.....could've tweeked the V8 turbodiesel to 320Kw or the 5litre V8 supercharged to 450Kw

Lexus finally unveils facelifted LX 570 at Pebble Beach [video]
....at this point, even your rival begins to really pity you. I'd rather Lexus simply specced out the Landcruiser V8, with more gadgets, leather and replaced the beam axle with independents at the rear, called it say Lexus Amazon or Smfn. This iteration......is the most hideous looking, the latest Nissan Patrol looks way more classy.

Unbelievable how diesel is artificially sold at par or higher than regular petrol in the US when it is 50% less costly to produce. That's not necessarily true. The material science and design technology in place today takes care of any untoward effects involving increased stress levels in a power plant. In some cases, you end up with lighter plants!
