2014 Lexus RC F leaked?
Regardless of millisecond performance specs, the IS-F always had the underdog appeal for me. As does this. Very excited to see this. Would nobody like to cite the relics that Audi will still be manufacturing when these cars are unveiled? These cars including the near completion next gen' C63...

2014 Lexus RC F leaked?
Its not real. Weirdly, I think the car will be more aggressive than this. Those pipes out back are tiny, the haunches aren't reflective of the prototypes and the wing looks very 'Silvia'. The Japanese know their way around CAD software. Do not be surprised if this is a rendering.

Spy video shows unknown Porsche 911 prototype testing, could be the Carrera 4 GTS
I've heard in prototype videos a turbo-esk "whoosh" soundtrack. Interesting though I resolutely hope for a Carrera GTS type car with a manual in place of the GT3 for ultimate drivers 911 status.

Well that would mean a Toyota/BMW colab on a smaller sports car as Toyota want it to be RWD exclusive! Either that or Auto Express are telling some porkies.

Lamborghini Cabrera spied once again
Keeping the blood line true. Excellent news for Lambo. Will undoubtedly show the 12C and 458 a thing or two. Maybe not about outright performance, but driver involvement and pleasure. And it can't come soon enough, to quell the torrent of Gallardo special editions that are trying to keep the fire alive prior to the replacement.

Porsche 918 Spyder still not sold out - report
Agreed actually. It is impressive. But it is a Hypercar and sat next to its obvious rivals the impressive efficiency figures suddenly seem less relevant. If you're looking for unprecedented technological advances I'd say the CX75 is most deserving. And its gorgeous.

460 would be acceptable purely on the basis that it weighs less. Power to right ratio is the important bit for driving pleasure.low weight will excel the GS for driving pleasure.

2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 to debut in Detroit - report
Sounds like killing two birds with one stone to me. Likely a more dynamic as well as better value machine will be come as a result of multiple kilogram/dollar saving lightweight material. Don't knock plastic too much. Its the P in CFRP. Furthermore you cant make such accusations having not actually knocked the parts about a bit. I bet you didn't even touch it. Having tested it I would imagine the Vette engineers will have ascertained that it does the job just fine. I understand the appeal of Porsche. The second in my 5 car garage is a GT3.2 997. But the new generation has drifted from what it means to be a true sports/drivers car. F1/FIA grade materials are not a part of that meaning. Driver involvement, a manual gearbox. A no nonsense purist setup. Cost cutting IMO is a good thing. Would you want an all carbon fibre Corvette for £150,000. Most would laugh in Chevrolets face. For a ten tenths pedal to the metal ergonomic thrill ride ill take the manual car and the 20k in my back pocket. I'll try not to let the plastic body panels ruin that experience for me too much. The 997.2 was that car. The 991 isn't.

Looking forward to a projected price of around £90-100k which will make the 991 GT3 and GT2 look like overpriced lashings of German arrogance.

Mercedes SLS AMG successor teased in semi-official spy photos
I know the horsepower wars are over, but it seems with each replacement supercar Mercedes brings out, it fails to match the predecessors power figure until the "crazy", and frankly in the case of the SLS, ugly, Black series is released. I hope Merc plan on doing something more special than a simple 911 rival to spiritually replace the late and great SLR.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray costs 61,495 GBP
Similarly specced 991s and F Types hitting the outer reaches of 80 thousand pounds. As I have been harping on about for months, the now in contention Corvette in terms of performance, economy and quality, is poised to attack.

Chris Harris tests the 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 [video]
As a devout GT3 fan I had so many reservations for this generation of GT3. I was certain it would be a front and an insult to one of the best and most iconic badges in sports car history. I can safely say that I am more than pleasantly surprised that much of the GT3 effervescence which died off in the 997 has made a residing return. The apparent work they've done with steering feel and damping is not something to be overlooked and a real achievement for Porsche. Even the rear steer somewhat tickles my pallet as a defining feature for this generation GT3. It looks truly exceptional. My initial reservations were a result then of my undying love for the 997.2. And following all of whats come to light from Chris' drive of the 991 I find myself conflicted and annoyed. The rekindling of the GT3 magic is an unavoidable achievement. It stands to be the drivers car to succeed the drivers car benchmark in all areas bar one. I had about five minutes where I forgave Porsche for their sin of omitting the manual gearbox and was probably caught up in the delight of the realisation that it does tick many unexpected boxes as a drivers car. However the chilling overriding conclusion that is unavoidable is a simple and I suspect difficult question, for Porsche to answer. Why not have a manual gearbox option? What possible good reason could there be for not having it as an option? Ask me for an extra 5000 on top of the list price to fit it with a stick and pedal and I would tick that box in a heartbeat, without so much as a whisper. The new car appears so excellent and rounded as a Porsche GT3 for the modern age, but in an era of 7 speed manuals (an idea pioneered by Porsche) where is the option? To just omit it is a giant leap from the 997. Some think a good leap undoubtedly for purposes of refinement, ease of use and access to a more refined every day car. But I and most other people know this is a tragedy. I may be very wrong here, but I see no logical cut throat reason why offering a manual is entirely impossible. Financially, environmentally.. it just doesn't make sense. I'm probably just running my mouth here but how hard is it to doctor the 7 speed manual. Surely it cant be too much more than a simple case of plug and play? Disappointed and disheartened, all the more because this car as we can now see has so much potential as a successor to arguably the most celebrated and rounded drivers cars in history.
