Demand for the SL65 is practically non existant right now. People who are buying the AMG V12 are buying S65's and CL65's. I worked for M-B for a couple of years and can't recall one person ordering...

Exclusivity will be the reason to produce both cars. The SLS is produced in very small numbers, and it will outperform the SL because of the low overall weight and the weight distribution.
