The Mercedes E63 AMG is continuing its development process with these latest spy shots of a prototype caught by our photographers at Nurburgring. It still carries a fair amount of camouflage on its body, but there will be no great surprises in the styling department after Mercedes revealed the ConceptFASCINATION which previews styling for the entire E Class range.

The unsurprising theme will continue under the hood, AMG's 6.3-liter V8 unit will be used boasting a power figure of more than 500 horsepower and a 0-100km/h time of around 4 seconds.

Driver assistance in general is a major theme for W212. Expect lane-departure warnings, an eye-movement monitor, traffic-sign identification, road-condition sensors, and stability control that accounts for crosswinds, camber changes, and tire wear.

It will follow its E Class siblings 2009 Geneva debut with its own unveiling at the Frankfurt Motor Show in twelve months time before being launched as a 2010 model.
