Ahead of its launch next week, Honda have announced the pricing for the all-new 2009 Honda Fit will start at $14,550 excluding the $670 destination charge. For those looking for a bit more Fit, the sport version which benefits from a number of premium features starts at $16,060.
A more refined 2009 design is aimed to move the Fit to the top of the pile in the subcompact segment of the market. A much sportier ride is experienced with a number of new enhancements including suspension, steering and body rigidity enhancements and it is all capped off with enhanced standard safety features such as the Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure and front seat active head restraints.
Under the hood is a 117hp 1.5-liter i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine which is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. It results in fuel economy ratings of 28mpg city and 35mpg highway, these figures become 27mpg and 33 mpg respectively when the Fit has the been installed with the optional automatic transmission.
