The Astra TwinTop from Opel is a dynamic convertible wonder that allows both open-air trips and sporting coupe driving fun. Thanks to its innovative electro-hydraulic steel folding roof, this convertible model is flexible and does not have to be banned to the garage during the winter months. With an extensive range of accessories, Irmscher is targeting Astra customers that want to make their mark on their vehicle, both inside and out, and who are looking for more than just run-of-the-mill quality. Be it an ergonomic sports steering wheel or a stunning sports spoiler, Irmscher already has the whole range of sporting accessories in its program just in time for the launch of this new Opel.
For the exterior, Irmscher has come up with unusual details for enhancing the sporting nature of the Astra TwinTop. The front spoiler, which matches the vehicle design, makes the vehicle look like it is lower and wider. The striking cooler grille in the typical Irmscher honeycomb design has been combined with a stainless steel strip to underscore the sporting face of the Astra Twin Top. The aerodynamically designed deep-door sills and shining chrome door handle panels accentuate the wedge-shaped side view. A striking rear spoiler highlights the dynamic impression of the rear of the vehicle.
It is not only the exterior appearance of a convertible which counts, the interior is equally as important especially as the interior extras are clearly on view whenever the roof is down. Irmscher has come up with a wide range of interior design ideas. In the Remshalden company Irmscher shows that almost nothing is impossible as far as the Astra Twin Top is concerned. The sides of the seats, the door panelling and the central armrest in black leather have been trimmed with an eye-catching carbon embossment feature. The seats themselves have been upholstered with light grey Alcantara and also have a conspicuous stitching pattern. Irmscher also supplies matching leather-bound velour foot mats. The central console panel in the tuned Astra TwinTop is made of real aluminium. Also, the standard handbrake has been replaced with a top quality handle in an aluminium design whilst the standard pedals have been substituted with soft aluminium sport pedals.
Irmscher has responded to requests for more performance power by enhancing the common-rail turbo diesel 1.9 litre engine. Depending on the basic motor, the performance of the 1.9 l motor has been increased by 23 to 25 HP. A suspension set that has been specially adapted to the Opel IDS chassis (Interactive Dynamic Driving System) permanently assists the track stability properties when the car is driven in a sporting manner. 18-inch alloy wheels in the Evo Star design with a titanium surface and the double ellipse rear muffler round off the Irmscher technology package.
