Mazda Launches RX-8 'Sport Prestige Limited' Special Edition

Even more dashing RX-8 boasts upgraded interior, exterior and driving performance

Mazda Motor Corporation announces the release of the RX-8 "Sport Prestige Limited" special edition. Featuring various enhancements both in looks and in performance, this model goes on sale today at Mazda and Mazda Anfini dealerships throughout Japan.

Mazda RX-8 Type S 'Sport Prestige Limited' (six-speed manual transmission model) Based on the theme "noticeable quality for appearance and performance," the RX-8 'Sport Prestige Limited' indicates an evolution of the RX-8, featuring not only handsome exclusive parts for both exterior and interior, but also enhanced driving performance.

The interior reveals the beige-colored special equipment, such as the beige leather seats trimmed with double stitches--the driver's seat equipped with electric-powered eight-way adjustments and lumbar support--and door trims matched with the seat color. The color-stitched black leather is applied to the steering wheel, parking brake lever and front/rear console box lids, while semi-gloss parts are used to highlight the meter rings, air-conditioner dials, air bent bezel rings and other areas.

Among the exclusive exterior parts are semi-gloss bezels for the headlamps and rear combination lamps, dark-silver gloss aluminum wheels, rear lip spoiler and front fog lamps to create a quality look and feel. The body color lineup includes the elegant and exclusive color "Radiant Ebony Mica."

To further enhance the driving performance and ride comfort, the RX-8 Sport Prestige Limited features the special-tuned suspension system, including the front suspension cross member filled with foamed urethane and special-tuned dampers, and improved body rigidity achieved by reinforcing the front-top portion of the A-pillars and improving the stability of the rear damper mounting points.

The manufacturer's suggested retail price of the RX-8 Sport Prestige Limited is 3,150,000 yen including the sales tax for the Japanese market.

• Large-size brake discs Ventilated disc brakes applied to four wheels--323mm disc rotor for front wheels and 302mm for disc rotor for rear wheels.
• Exclusive tuned suspension system Including Mazda's original "Rigid Foamed Suspension Cross Member" filled with foamed urethane, which helps provide better handling stability and damping force to the vibration from the road. The system also features 14mm-diameter front and rear dampers.
• Enhanced body rigidity Thanks to the reinforced top portion of the A pillars and reinforcements to the mounting points of the rear dampers.
