so for 20,000$ you get a revised ecu chip, larger turbo, and a new exhaust. Then they want another 14,000$ for a "handling" package which gives you brakes way larger than the car needs and wheels that will make the handling worse...Sure there probably are some suspension adjustments/upgrades included as well but really? DOT slicks+upgraded pads+brake ventilation+camber/toe adjustments would do a better job than their 14000$ package and for a fraction of the cost.

Bulls***, I want to see this thing on a scale to believe 600lbs. "mind you I've also seen them weigh 375lbs" Maybe in formula sae, but not in the real world. I can promise with 100% certainty there is no 2 seat car that weigh's this little, and if it does it was not properly designed and tested. V-twin, wft, you'll make a lot more power with a 4cyl and it will be a lot more reliable for only a slight increase in weight.

@joe, dude, you are just plane wrong. You may love the american cars, but you seem to lack an understanding of engineering. Higher reving motors have a higher dynamic compression, higher compression motors ARE MORE EFFICIENT, no matter what. Considering drivtrain losses, that is up to the design of the drive train, obviously AWD has a greater loss and the difference in loss between any RWD car is negligible. Why don't car manufacturers use 600cc motors, because they don't have the torque for every day driving. Why is ford switching to turbo motors in most of their cars, oh yeah, it's because smaller turbo motor's are more efficient. Guess what Joe, if an engine and engine management system is well designed it will last as long with an 8k redline as an american V8 at 6.5K and it will be more efficient. You take you're 29mpg and 1 passenger, I'll take my 4 passengers and 22mpg.

Chrystler is the largest supplier of Gov't vehicles, somewhere around 40% of their sales are to gov't agencies. Just the gov't alone purchasing the car will bring it to mass production quantities.

An E30 M3's s14 is a common engine to put into a 2002 (aka M2). It's not sacrilegious by any means and the engines come from wrecked or S52 swapped E30s. I would love to/will do this to my 2002 in the future, put's it on par with an E36M3(US spec). The M10 blocks used in F1 were brand new, not "bought back". I don't know why anyone would even think that's true. Very few M10's came in 1.5l to begin with. There were a handful of 1502's, many more 1602's, some 1802's, and predominately 2002's. They were never verified to 1500hp, estimated at 1350hp as the dyno's didn't go above 1300. They did not explode after a few turns either, rather no one wanted to drive a car with more HP that lbs and no drivers aids. If you'd ever driven a single seat race car like that you'd understand how mentally and physically taxing they are. Boost was set above 80psi for qualifying and 55psi for the duration of the races on single turbo I4's. Here's a chart of a privately owned one dyno'd in '07 not in full F1 tune. http://www.gurneyflap.com/Resources/dyno-graph-bmw-16-11-07.jpg If you think that's nuts, google group C porsche, 1600ish hp in cars around the same weight as F1. And to all those who will stop watching F1 because they no longer use V8's, you really don't understand what the sport is about.

Actually I know for a fact it was driven, regardless of what is stated in the article. I have seen that car on I5 before, covered in bugs on the front.
