The way I look at the drawings, the top is nothing more than a regular softtop, but instead of having the traditional 3 layer fabric insulation, they used a 4 piece moulded piece made of unspecified material.

I was one of the skeptics for the awkward looking d-pillar. After looking at it for a day, I have to say Ian Callum was right. Painting those d-pillars would have made it just another A6 wannabe.
