VW still eying Alfa, promises Porsche engines for the Italian brand
March 28, 2011
That is absolute drivel. Fiat are the company responsible for the common rail diesel engine which is now the basis of every modern diesel engine. Their multijet petrol engines are far more advanced than anything VW has in their range.
Also do yourself a favour and have a look at the reliability index of VW and Audi cars that have been built in the last 10 years. They are horrific. Modern VWs are easily as bad as the worst Alfas when it comes to reliability. The last passat was an unmitigated disaster as was the mark 4 Golf. The Toureg is shocking (personal experience) and the parts are outragously expensive.
I would go as far as to say the current Alfa range is a lot more reliable than the current VW range. I'm sorry but VWs are pieces of junk and anyone who knows anything about them will tell you the same. 10 years ago your post about VW quality might have made sense but its nonsense now.

because its just as good a car and costs a fraction of what an Audi does. Audis being nothing more than a badge, i think i would take the Opel. Also, the top spec insignia interior with wood trim is nicer than any Audi.

Spare you? You do realise the C63s engine is heavily downtuned dont you? That exact engine puts out 518bhp in the new E63 and according to AMG engineers it has loads more in reserve. Not to mention the huge torque figures which most turbocharged cars cannot achieve.

And yeah, im sure you know way better than every journalist (in particular the english ones) who have raved about this engine since it came out. Its a work of art and you clearly have never driven a 63 AMG.

Maybe do your research a bit better chum, the C63 engine only produces 451bhp in the C63. It produces 517bhp in the e-class and according to AMG engineers there is plenty more in it. Why would they unleash all the power now when they clearly plan on using the engine for a few years to come yet?
Not to mention the fact that you are ignoring it's phenomenal torque figures and relatively good fuel economy.
