Top Gear and an out-of-juice Nissan Leaf [video] The argument that a hybrid or electric car only redistributes it's pollution is an argument highlighting the point of these vehicles :D Moving pollution out of the city or urban environment while maintaining independent forms of transportation in those areas is a win in my books. As for the charging points, I'll take one at home thanks and plan my travel arrangements around the range of my vehicle. If my daily trip is greater than the range of an electric car I'd be stupid to buy an electric car. My daily travel distance include 2 30km trips that are about 8 hours apart on average. Even without charging the car at work I could get by with a Leaf. I think an important rule for potential electric car buyers would be if you are not intelligent enough to determine your own transportation needs then you shouldn't buy an electric car. Perhaps rather take public transport as you are probably not intelligent enough to drive safely on public roads.
