"but since the current 2011 Impala comes with a 3.5 liter OHV unit with 211 bhp (157 kW / 214 PS) and 216 lb-ft (293 Nm) of torque, there may be a modest power boost." the article clearly states that such a lowly power output was from the 3.5 ohv v6. the 3.6 v6 in other gm cars (like the traverse) makes around 286hp. that said, the impala is still a terrible car. but i guess cheap sells too.

2012 Hyundai Genesis facelift graces Chi-town a 6.2 amg engine starts at around 450hp and 443lbft of torque. it then goes up to 563hp and 480lbft. so i don't understand why you even brought that engine up. compare this engine to other merc v8s. their outgoing 5.5l v8 makes 382hp and a 391lbft of torque, and their new replacement, 4.6l turbo v8, makes 429hp and a massive 516lbft of torque. merc engines aren't as much as about hp as they are about torque. that said, the car is impressive and is a worthy alternative to those considering an e-class, 5-series or any other comparable car from lexus/infiniti. it just needs awd, really....
