Seven Fiat models planned for U.S.
April 27, 2009
First off Alfa Romeo, Maserati, and Ferrari all use unique stylers such as pininfarina and Bertone to name a few(I apologize if I mispelled one of those two.) As much as they pride themselves on style the italians particularly the upper levels of fiat group pride their uniquely developed underpinings, engines and other innovative engineerings. The brands of Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, and Maserati didn't get their name for being a A+ design and a C- in performance, they have names for a reason(Ferrari and Alfa Romeo being close to absolute domination in racing at different points in time.) Ferrari wont share underpinings with anyone, even the 250K alfa 8C. So some sort of Ferrari California Super viper forget about it. On the other hand Maserati has been pretty open to the idea of sharing its componants on high end models. As for one on the baseline of the vette maybe an uper level alfa pinings(possibly a whole new segment, a rougher less fancy style, but having maserati/high end RWD alfa underpinings with an american V8) Also maybe a super car with a Viper V10, and Maserati Gran Turismo underpinings? Just thinking about the possibilities, also makes me think that the corvette might need a bailout(it could happen lol) Any ways as for Alfa Romeo the idea that they will become bland won't happen. They have been around for about a hundred years, always had style, always will both over and underneath the hood. Fiat is going to buy out a controlling stake in Chrysler not the other way around. Also with every car company doing bad right now one premium brand is doing well. Maserati sales are up 2%. May not sound like much. But thats a good 12%-22% better than most car companies. I heard a guy with an excellent post, he was american, he said I own a BMW and an alfa both cost alot to fix I just like driving my Alfa more. I bet u never owned an alfa in your life V6's stink. Well american V8's stink, in a year or two they are gonna get smacked by cars that can handle 8-12000 rpms, are taxed by their discplacement, and have 3 companies that produce supercars that can smoke your mustang, Corvette, trans am( Oh wait there is no pontiac on the high end sports car model ohh snap.) Really the only two american cars that I give the nod too is Ford GT (Maybe the new Camaro,) and the Viper and well due to the merger one of the two is on the italian side and probobly will get made better. Also Henry Ford Tipped his hat to one other Car company Alfa Romeo. Don't be mad get glad "V6s Stink" Alfa has been making exciting cars since before the model T changed paint colors. They were able to a defeat Hitlers 400HP super Mercedes just before WWII, and were among the first car companies to have twin turbo's, also used hemi headers before chrysler. Look at the growing trend, IF your an American fan your prolly just outraged that a foreign company that was close to being in the dumpster 5 years ago has recovered, and built up enough strength to buy potentially buy out one of the big 3. If you are an american car fan get with the program, in 6 years buy out GM, 10 years ford, 20 years BMW. Sergio Marchione is my hero and soon to be your favorite car companies CEO.
