2012 Buick Regal GS unveiled
November 7, 2010
So, um, this is supposed to compete with an Audi A4? Does that also mean it will compete with the forthcoming Cadillac ATS? Worse still, does that mean they will base the Caddy on this chassis? Why does Buick exist again?
Pontiac is dead after 84 years
November 2, 2010
GM currently has four live brands. Cadillac I understand - luxury, cutting edge tech, dynamics etc. Chevy (USA) makes just about every possible type of car imaginable - cheap n cheerful Aveo, Hi-value Cruze, tech wunderkind Volt, bruisers Suburban and Sierra, muscle-car Camaro and sportscar/supercar Corvette. This makes Buick and GMC redundant. Why not kill those two and let poor Pontiac live on as a much-appreciated performance brand? It had more personality than those two combined! Sad times :(
2011 Land Rover Freelander 2 gets minor facelift & upgraded diesel engine

Yeah, fairly important detail you left out there, WCF... LR's first ever FWD offering (I know the Evoque will have it, but this is likely to reach the road first) is kind of a big deal.

Mercedes S-Class Coupe Spied Practically Uncovered
March 6, 2010
Oh just give us the car already, Merc. It's mostly a facelift and not exciting enough for the hype - and don't pretend that the systematic and gradual undressing of a 'mule' in 'spy photos' and 'leaked brochures' isn't hype. It's all marketing.
Speaking of marketing, I can see why it's being renamed, and in terms of pure economics, that's probably a good idea. It's not thaaat cumbersome to call it by its newer, longer name.
However, things are going once niche too far. If I've understood this right, both the E-class and C-class platforms will each have a saloon, coupe, convertible and four-door coupe (a-la CLS) based on them and an SUV and roadster of corresponding size. Given the retarded niches opened by Audi (A7, A5 sportback etc) and BMW (5-series GT, X6) competition could see this spill over into the S-class platform and cause the addition of strange hatchbacked things across the model range. Maybe it's a good thing. Variety is never bad.
What I will never condone from Merc's marketing team though is that horrid, horrid CLC. Especially since it's based on the previous-gen C-class. And most of its customers would never know how badly they were being cheated. I hope it dies painfully.

When you rev a Lambo, SNOW FALLS FROM THE TREES! That car dude, it is something else. But yes, a Murcielago LP670-2 would be awesome as well. Thanks for making sure they were so awesome over the years, Val!
