Mercedes SL turns sixty - 2nd model gets restored well not this model, but bring back the gullwing... keep it simple but reliable and reasonably priced. That would be as big as when BMW revived the mini cooper.

MANSORY Renovatio based on Mercedes-Benz Mclaren SLR That's just rude, disrespectful, and also very presumptuous :) I am sure that these opinions are shared by many well-off WCF members. I've had a Le Mans edition porsche 930 turbo as my first car when i was 16. I am not saying that i drive super cars daily but I certainly I had my share of owning some, renting many, and driving a whole lot more. Just to put things into perspective, where I come from we share a car-pool of a Lexus IS, a CTS, a mercedes CL, 2x ML's, 2x S classes, an X5, a mini cooper S, an FJ, a Continental Flying Spur, and other less significant cars :) Over the years, we've owned 7 porches, 2 rollses, and a ferrari as well. The interesting part is that all of these cars are a common scenery and non of them attract the kind of attention you are referring to, except for the Lexus IS!? would you believe that? you'd think it's the crappiest and the cheapest of the bunch but it does attract a lot of positive attention because it was tastefully modified. I believe that all OEM cars can be improved by modifications, otherwise they would've equipped them with best parts and they would've cost ridiculous amount of money, but it all comes down to your taste... and that is what we criticize.

Believe me, I know first hand how hard it is to get original material and how hard it is to strike a good balance between the qualities expected by different members. Personally, I hate the picture such posts paint us to be, which brings my following point. Please consider adding a new feature in future WCF redesigns which allows us to select or rank our interests. This way, all member will get the same news but ranked by their individual preferences :) just my 2 cents and kudos for your feedback!

Some buy them to feed their egos, others buy them as a reward for their successes and as a way to enjoy and appreciate the finer things in life. "Basically put, this car will turn more heads and start more conversations then the regular SLR therefore I want it more." I agree that it would, actually any modified SLR would, that's not the issue. I just don't appreciate how vulgar it looks. There are tons of tasteful kits out there and this is not one of them. This is subjective though, so to each his own ;)

This isn't the quality expected from WCF and it's not even news anymore, been posted elsewhere a while ago. I am from Saudi and I have to say, WCF just lost a rank or 2 in my book. On another note, our school busses look different. The typical yellow school busses are usually purchased cheaply from the US and shipped to Saudi to transport low-wage construction workers to/from work sites. And just so everybody know, this is not a common scenery, this lunacy is practiced in the far outskirts of couple of cities, typically with stolen cars and they are typically gay. Yup, ask anyone who can read arabic to read the stickers on the rear windshields. Word has it that they seat their "boys" in the back seats lol
