Seat brand enters Last Chance Saloon with new 5yr Plan
May 13, 2010
I guess that's what happens when you try to market yourself as a sporty brand with latin passion but produce awkward or dull looking MPVs and underpowered city cars. Aside from the Cupra models, Seat has nothing exciting to offer.
Renault Wind gets priced and equipped
May 9, 2010
Quite a steep price for such a weird looking car. The 207cc is much nicer
New Volvo five-cylinder 2-litre turbodiesel now available throughout model range
May 6, 2010
The PSA engines are 4-cylinder, while the Volvo engines are 5-cylinder. So they're not the same. The output is good, but not extraordinarily good. Fiat/GM's 1.9 180hp diesel achieves 400Nm too.
New 2012 VW Polo / Vento sedan sketches surface
May 3, 2010
The jetta was briefly called vento in Europe, so why use the same name on a car that is in a smaller class? Looks good though.
2013 Alfa Spider and 2012 Giulia sedan to be built on Chrysler RWD platform
April 22, 2010
RWD seems to be making a comeback. First Toyabaru and now Alfa. Doesn't necessarily need to be a bad thing. Chrysler has the know-how to make a good chassis (Viper?), and Alfa has the know-how to make even mediocre chassis acceptable.
Toyota FT-86 pricing going higher than expected
April 22, 2010
19.000 pound is still very cheap and 19.000 euro even cheaper. You can't really find a decent fwd hatchback for that money, let alone a rwd coupe.
BMW Z2 Prototype First Sighting in Laguna Beach, California
April 13, 2010
I'd say this isn't even a soft-top, it's too smooth. If you look close the the rear window outline is the same as the current one, but mostly covered with this fabric-looking material.
2010 Vauxhall Astra in Full Police Livery (UK)
April 10, 2010
Somehow the new Astra manages to look like it's been around forever in a record time. And I've only ever seen one in real-life.
2011 BMW 5-Series Long Wheelbase Spied Winter Testing
March 4, 2010
I thought the 5 series was built on a shortened 7 series platform. Then isn't this a 'poor' man's 7 series?
Spyker finalizes purchase of Saab from GM
February 24, 2010
Some reasons why this will never happen: 1. RWD is expensive to develop, 2. Saab has never done RWD, 3. Saab is from Sweden where winters are really cold and roads so slippery that RWD is just impractical and outright dangerous, 4. Audi is outselling other premium brands without doing RWD, 5. a good FWD is nearly indistinguishable from a RWD by the average, sensible driver, 6. AWD has few advantages over FWD and is less efficient in these energy concious times.
