Acura NSX Roadster patent renderings leaked?
March 12, 2012
You've got it backwards- you guys are either too young to remember the original NSX or you've got selective memories. The R8 looks like a chunky version of the original NSX, which came out what, 20 years ago. What brand new design are you talking about? Take every Honda/Acura design concept for the NSX successor and you'll see that the new NSX is a culmination of each. Credit should go to where credit is due: even the creators of the Mclaren F1 explained how they drew inspiration from the NSX. Every Mclaren, Lotus, Lambo has had some element of design/engineering inspired from the Honda HSC concept since it was unveiled in 2003. The HSC itself draws inspiration from Pinninfarina, Ferrari, lamborghini, and Zonda.
Honda AC-X concept revealed - provides less physical driving stress

This should be the next Accord, or the next Legend. The pentagonal wheel-well bulges from this and the FCSport is a signature look Honda must employ. It would be such a waste if this design language, especially the rear, didn't make it to future Honda cars. This concept shows a glimmer of hope for Honda Design.
2013 Acura ILX Sedan revealed in production form

You have to remember the korean brands need to use audacious designs and advertise warranties that are ambiguous at best as to what they cover. What the korean's seem to understand is the heartbeat of the general populous - which is based on creating a perception of high class through design and advertised service. Their engineering and engine technology is still behind on Toyota and Honda, but their marketing/product planning division is TOP NOTCH. If anything, Acura has become too American. Ito and the Japan Honda design studio in Tokyo need to take back the reigns from the current Acura execs.
Acura NSX to be built in US - revealed in Detroit [videos]

Isn't it obvious the R8 and bmw i look like the original NSX. Even the creators of the McLaren F-1 took inspiration from the NSX. You know Honda's serious when it announces a production NSX, and you know things are up when Lexus responds with the LF-LC(supra) and Infiniti with their e-merge flagship sportscar. This new concept is a tasteful evolution of ALL the NSX concepts that came after the original. Overlay the side profile of the NSX,HSC,ASCC,and FC Sport, and you get this NSX concept. (see http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q46/hkcrv/nsxlineage.png) What Honda/Acura needs now is a 2+2 coupe that middle in-comers can afford. Convert the look of the HSV-010GT design into a production car. It has to be a car that makes people say "WOW! That's a Honda?"(to some people so young, they wouldn't know what Honda's were like in the glory days. Call it the CL, or heck, call it the Prelude... of things to come. Bring on the EV-Ster, rename it to Beat for the Asia market and call it Del Sol for the Americas.. Honda/Acura definitely needs to bring back the sporty icons, especially the Del Sol and Prelude (the ones most regular people can afford.)

Acura NSX, ILX Concept and 2013 RDX announced for Detroit debuts

How is this a copy of Mazda or a Korean brand? This car is the culmination of over a decade of research. Design elements are taken from the 2004 Honda HSC and 2007 Acura Advanced Sports Car (which ultimately became the Honda HSV-010GT HR10EG).
BMW i1 concept

Its not a motorcycle, its a tricycle! That being said, there definitely is a market for these types of vehicles, just not in the United States. People are stupid, especially young motorcycle riders. Personal movers that can carry 2 either in tandem or side by side but with a smaller profile than a car would sell millions in Asia and China. In the US, people don't really ride bicycles because of the dangers of being hit by cars. Other markets like China and Japan would benefit from small people-movers. I can see how motorcyclists would despise the design as it would not let you pass cars in between lanes - but they shouldn't be doing that anyway. There is nothing unique about this concept whatsoever and calling it a bmw i-something is just silly. This trike like concept already exists and this particular design takes alot from the japanese anime movie Akira and the motorcycle used by Kaneda.

Do you only drive in a straight line? My first civic barely got 100hp and it was already fun to drive. HP is overrated, its all about power to weight ratio buddy.

better? in what way? subjective? This car is way more beautiful than Ford, Opel, or VW designs. but then again, thats my taste. And if you don't like the wing, don't buy the car. It serves a purpose, and you don't seem to get it.
Honda NSX could be launched by 2014 - report

@A You fail to realize that your perspective comes from a non-japanese one, and the NSX to this day is considered Japan's most high regarded sports car. The Japanese have completely different tastes than Americans. More so, they have different priorities. They have other things to worry about aside from automobile sales- like fixing the government which is screwing the Japanese citizens and companies over. Like re-inventing and innovating now that everyone has caught up to Honda. This is exactly what is going on in Honda, but they have learned a few lessons: They are now even more ultra secretive about releasing any future model information as it has proved to be detrimental to both Toyota and Honda, when companies like Hyundai are bribing/hiring people to disclose top secret information from the inside. Japan will continue to have earthquake, tsunami, and energy crisis and will have to deal with that first and foremost. The current Japanese and US government is really to blame though, but most car enthusiasts don't research that deep.
