Report reveals secrets of Ferrari's record pitstops
April 21, 2012
does that mean they are using 2 wheel guns per wheel, one for taking off, and one for putting on...F1 needs to get the racing back on the track and not in the pits....and the Tenlap tires, I certainly wouldn't put them on my Porsche.

Too late, I've bought my last VW ever, tired of their horrible service, lacking warranties, quirky cars. I've had 7 of them. My first was a 82' Scirocco GL (???)....and my last, which I am growing tired of crawling over cracks in highway, let alone very reasonable driveways (to normal cars)...is my 2008 R32. Strangely, it has been the most reliable of them all. In actuality it probably isn't. They probably just fix stuf't tell me. A nice way to improve customer reliability perceptions. 2 YEARS TOO LATE, AS ALWAYS...hey, where's a Boxster style convertible in their lineup, "Concept Blue", should have been on the road 2 years after the 1st Boxster, latest rumor...Porsche division was going to use it as a cheaper starter car"...however, Porsche probably won't, as it's probably not up to Porsche standards.

Ratt, the door on a 2 door Golf is quite large and heavy...to the point that at times I wish I had a 4door, but mine is a '08 R32, and back on that model 4 doors wasn't an option as I believe it is with the new Golf R (which I would consider buying, but would probably not). VW stuck with the hatchback while all other companies abandoned it, now in the last 2 years or so, many automakers are making hatchbacks, it's personal preference. Understandable. Take it easy.

to: Han Solo, buy a Jetta, to: Ratt...the Rabbit/Golf has always been the hatchback version of the Jetta Sedan, for a coupe version...look in VW history and I believe the "Bora" which never made production is what you would like (another stupid move by VW, and I speak with some knowledge as I have had 7 VW's. to: Ceramic Rabbit...yes, you're right, but if he were desiring 2 doors still, then it would be the never produced (???) "Bora". VW has been somewhat successful despite of themselves. They should have had a convertible roadster to go against the Miata to Boxster range, but the BlueTec (I believe) concept convertible, last I read was going over to the Porsche division and yes I know who owns who. The EOS, was a beautiful car, and still is, but priced about $10K too high. Now, years later, everyone is making folding metal convertible tops...and I bet if you show 10 people an EOS, they would say "hey, that looks nice, are they ever going to make it???". The Passat has always been lacking in the engine department. Back before gas prices went ballistic, people would buy Camry's and Accords just because they had V6 engines, even though the 1.8, or 2.0 L VW engine does the job, Americans are just used to supersizing their darn burgers and engines. They did eventually bring in the V6, and V8 Passat in the early 2000's (I had a V6 4-Motion/Tiptronic)...but Japanese reliability vs costs of maintenance and insurance of German cars comes into play.

VW is missing out on sales in the US by choosing not to import any form of the Scirocco, in fear of hurting GTi sales. The Scirocco is sportier and presents more style. A Scirocco vs a 4 door GTi ??? How is that a eating into sales, as obviously a 4 door GTi is the last hurrah for a sporty male, as a baby seat will probably reside in the back seat. Bring the Scirocco R, price it accordingly, and it will receive the same views that I receive when people ask about my 2008 R32..."ridiculously expensive". True auto enthusiasts will determine for themselves if it is or not. A GTi typically sells for $24-$27K. Still frowned upon based on the lack of a V6 engine by others. I believe VW should bring a comparable model Scirocco to the Golf (of course, a 4 door model excluded), price it about $2-$3K more than the Golf, and sales overall would grow. People may go to the showroom to look at a Scirocco, but find that a Golf is quite sporty by itself in proper trim and choose that model, "Bait & Switch"...legally. Me I would love to buy a 2.0, or an R model Scirocco, however, I don't have that option...and by the way, I would be keeping my R32 as well. I wrote response/comments to the other commentors, however...this blogline sucks.
Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line accessories introduced

I like the Tiguan-R, I also like the Scirocco-R...which I would swap my '08 R32 for in a second, if it were ever allowed into the United States. I understand their logic about not wanting to consume Golf GTi sales, but GTi's are selling for around $25K....I think the Scirocco-R would surely cost close to the mid $30K (US$) range. So I don't see the logic. The R32 did not affect GTi sales, as evidenced by the fact that they sold only around 3500 of the planned 5000 allocation. VW, I buy them, but I don't understand them.
