Koenigsegg is developing a camless engine - report

Pneumatic? I would think you would need an awful lot of pressure to actuate valves pneumatically. Are they using cylinder pressure?
Seems like you would have more lag in a pneumatic valve than a hydraulic one. Then again air is much lighter than hydraulic fluid, so maybe they can actually move valves faster due to less inertia?. Interesting concept.

I wonder if they are planning for AWD. 300hp with fwd would need some creative traction control.

The North American version wasn't selling as well as expected, but they didn't axe it. That said, I hope to god that they learned their lesson and won't try to make a North American only version this time around. Just give us the same one as the rest of the world! Please!

I'd guess that the angle of the windshield is part of the aerodynamics, and thus won't change that much.

To your question about replacing fossil fueled vehicles: If all gasoline use were halted and replaced with electric, we would need an additional ~781 GW of base load generation capacity. For comparison, the entire USA has a typical usage of about 500GW. The entire world has a usage of about 2300GW. So we'd need to increase production by about 34%. A certain amount of that could be accommodated simply by charging vehicles during off-peak hours, but I'm sure that some new plants would need to be built as well.

The real question is what does the car cost? If priced too high, the price premium can easily eat any fuel cost savings vs. a regular gasoline powered model.

While gasoline powered autos don't generally produce heavy metal emissions, even a dirty coal plant produces less CO2 and nitrogen compounds than an equivalent number of autos, and does so at a lower cost per unit of usable energy. And, it's relatively simple to improve the cleanliness of a coal plant as compared to doing so on a few hundred thousand autos.
Don't get me wrong, I'd much rather be using a properly built nuclear reactor or some type of renewable energy, but in comparison to thousands of gas engines running all over, a big coal plant isn't all that bad.
