VW Launches New 1.2L TSI Engine in Polo, Golf and Golf Plus The 1.2 TSI is a four-cylinder engine, has nothing in common with the 1.2 3-cyl used in the latest Polo. TSI stands only for the combination of turbocharger and fuel direct injektion. VW says only "TSI" to all types of turbocharged engines. In the case of the neu 1,2 TSI it is the standard type with only one small turbocharger similiar to the small 1,4 TSI.
