This can't compete with the BMW 3series Coupe or the Audi A5. Where is the Design? Where is that special something that a Coupe needs?

Porsche is Delaying Hybrid Models Until 2010

Basically batteries for hybrids or electric cars aren't very toxic. Old NiMH or lead-acid batteries were much more dangerous. Newer Li-Ion-Batteries can be build with minimum of environmental impact and they need a clean construction atmosphere. It is possible to recycle everything in a new Li-Ion Battery. You always have a trade-off of environmental variables: -Fuel-cell-based cars have a lot of toxic metals in the fuel cell. -Diesels create a lot of NOx and CO2 -Hybrids have toxic chemicals in the batteries -Biofuels are made from food plants Transportation of car elements is a problem with all cars. Nearly every car needs electronics from Taiwan, European injection systems and steel from all over the world to be build. 100 pounds of batteries are not a major problem. Hybrid could have some major advantages: -easy transition to purely electric cars becomes possible -very good mileage increasing for big cars (25% for the Audi Q7)

Audi TT 2.0 TDI quattro Revealed
February 27, 2008
Btw. why won't they put a 3.0 TDI in it as well? The 3.0 TDI is bigger than the 3.2 FSI that fits in the TT. The TT hasn't much place under the hood. The 3.0 TDI would have been to big for that car. Second: Sportcars will allways use the most efficient kind of motor that you can get: If you get good efficience torque curves and rotation numbers from diesel-engines it is just logical to use them in sportcars. Nowadays Diesel/Diesel-hybrid are the most efficient engine systems and it is just sensible to use them. Sooner or later electrical will be the most efficient solution. In 15-25 years batteries will be far enough that no one will miss the old cars with internal combustion engines.
Chery cars spotted in SA

They are a growing industry. They began building cars just about 10 years ago and they get better with each new generation of that products. Just think of that what Hyundai was in the 90s or what Nissan and Toyota were in the 70s and 80s (in that years the American automotive industry CEOs thought that Japanese brands would never become a danger for them). And the Chinese are even faster at getting better than the Japanese and the Koreans were in their market-entry time.
Bugatti Drops Project Lydia
February 15, 2008
Investing in Bugatti is just like burning money for VW. They don't make profit with that beast. The extreme amounts of money they invested into such stupid prestige projects would have been very good for further development of Bentley and Audi. I think the 4-door Bugatti will just end like the Veyron Targa: It won't even reach prototype state.
Chevrolet Camaro Hybrid
February 5, 2008
Its about how a hybrid is built: You can have extremly massive acceleration from a good hybrid drivetrain. And that is what a muscle car is all about. Ok a hybrid might be strange when youre used to have a V8 in a muscle car, but i think this is just technological progress. In the end costs will decide the muscle car war: If oil prices go up further , the good old V8 will be just to expensive for all day driving and people will reconsider the V6-hybrid.
