All New Honda Jazz Revealed
July 31, 2008
This is exactly what it is - an evolution, not a design from the ground up. If you put the old and the new side by side, you will definitely notice the differences. The Mazda 2 is a nice design but still does not offer the versatile functionality of the Fit/Jazz. Different strokes for different folks.
Toyota Prius Shows Next Gen Body for First Time
July 30, 2008
This revealed new Prius should put an end to the remarks by others who insist that the upcoming Honda hybrid model, also a kammback design, is actually the next generation Prius!!! The Honda certainly has different design cues - door handles, C-pillar, horizontal tail lights and headlights, etc.
All New Honda Jazz Revealed

It's interesting to note that the European and Japanese/Asian market Jazz/Fit is 'cuter' just because it is overall shorter than the US/Canada spec Honda Fit. Not only do the bumpers of the North American model extend more but upon close inspection, the overall nose is longer too (i.e. bigger engine compartment; not sure if extending the engine bay was necessary or perhaps it was designed for safer frontal collision) Looking at the NA model, the tip of the headlight is farther away from the A pillar compared to the other world market's version. Personally, this creates a less balanced car aesthetically because there seems too much frontal overhang.
Honda Hybrid Spied in the U.S. Desert

This is definitely a Honda even if it looks very similar to the Toyota Prius. Just looking at the face alone, it shares many design cues with the FCX Clarity from the grill design to the continuous headlight treatment that extends all the way close to the wheel wells. The masking attempts to blur the defining lines. The oval emblem shape is a simple yet ingenious attempt to make people think it's a vehicle other than a Honda. Even the door handles resemble the Clarity/Fit/Jazz handles, and not the typical grab handles of Toyota models. So sorry but the insistent "this-is-a-Prius people" here will have to eat their words when the production version is finally unveiled.
All New Honda Fit Unveiled in New York

This is nice. The Fit/Jazz was not meant to be larger than how it originally started. It was designed to be a city car. I made a few observations. It's interesting to note that the 2nd generation North American version is slightly longer than the Japanese version and for the rest of the world. It's obviously not the wheelbase that's longer but a more substantial rear bumper added and also a longer nose with a different front bumper. This must be to meet NA safety codes. The cutesy factor is a bit diminished! If one looks closely, the headlight cluster and grill slats are also slightly different to the Jap version and the NA market gets foglights for its sports model. Sadly, the side mirror light markers are absent and the dash has less electronic features than the Japanese one.
