BMW (SA) M3 Convertible: price, dates
January 31, 2008
one cannot compare these prices to US prices, the m3 is cheaper in the US than in the place it is made (germany), americans pay peanuts for cars. in south africa a BMW 335i is R400000, yet the equivalent model in australia, which recieves lower spec than south africans do equates to about R710000. so one cannot compare prices, that is why you never see nice cars in Aus they are way to expensive, they only drive rubbish holdens and the like. when i went to south africa last year, 90% of the cars there are top of the range models bmw, mercedes audis, porsche , you name it it is there. i even saw 2 zondas and a koenigsegg, plenty of lambos and ferraris. i think the only BMW i saw in Aus in two weeks was a crappy 116i ha ha ha. and i live in florida, where cars like these are abundant, yet i have not seen a zonda or koenigsegg here?????

Ford South Africa to Build New Pick-up Truck Engines
January 30, 2008
i have many friends there and go there as often as i can, its an incredibly beautiful country, and atleast it is not a boring nanny state like australia, what an awful country australia is, i wanted to leave within 4 days, its so boring and tedious. yes south africa may have crime but so does the rest of the world, it is just hyped on the media more than SA. I dont understand your particular comment about the VW, your remark in your first post says "well, there goes quality service and parts out the window. expect call backs" , which is a totally pointless irellevant argument when you say i know vw builds good cars, cos most of the vw are built in south africa. ford has a huge heritage in south africa, been building cars and engines there for ages , as have VW, BMW, Mercedes and Renault and a few others, so obviously they do trustworthy, reliable work that is on par, if not better than other countries who also assemble cars and engines, otherwise business would be taken elsewhere. do you understand? that is why i got so upset on your unfounded and illogical comment
Ford South Africa to Build New Pick-up Truck Engines
January 30, 2008
once again, a very ignorant comment, probably from a redneck that does not have a clue. the funny thing is the BMW x5 is built in america , yet i have had to take mine back for numerous reasons, including a broken drivetrain for no apparent reason, headlight cluster falling off and numerous other problems including air-bag warning light coming on regularly. The funny thing is my daughter owns a VW Golf , which you should know is built in South Africa, and she has never had one days trouble from it in 3 years. My mate also owns a noble m400 which is also built in South Africa, in one of the most technoligically advanced factories in the world and he also has no complaints. Mercedes also make the c-class in SA, from parts sourced from Germany, as do VW, so please get your facts straight before you post ignorant, uncalled for comments. ( just in case you were wondering i live in Florida, if at any time you doubt the build quality of these cars , come to my house and i will prove you wrong. There is a reason i don't drive american rubbish, only german ;)
