Eyebrows raise as 'ugly' Caterham photos leaked
January 25, 2012
Personally it looks fine and looks advance compared to 2009-2000 cars in which few steps backward from the beauty of 2006-2008 F1 cars. This new design language certainly is not gonna be spot on prince/princess but it does show more technological aspect beneath the car.
2013 BMW 1-Series GT caught testing front-wheel-drive system

but what you expect less from a corporate like BMW, they need to keep their company growing to satisfy their shareholder which includes many of our insurance and superannuation. Both MB and Audi aren't in danger, but this Munich car manufacturer is, mostly because they are neither has commercial vehicle line up like MB nor a big Audi parent company, VW. Hence, it makes sense for them to try defending their future and they won't push us to buy it, if we don't like it. Unless, they will merge with PSA which is also looking for a long and fully cooperate partner to develop one platform for multiple models.
Peugeot axes endurance racing program
January 18, 2012
When they talk about saving 800 million Euro then I understand it, that is a cost to develop one car platform and Peugeot has to strength up their product line up for Asia Pacific and Africa in no time. I hope Pescarolo will keep one or two 908 for 2012 24h Le Mans or the winner is already decided even before the race due to nobody has developed a racing car as intense as Audi. While Toyota certainly needs to get drive for one or two years to show its full capability.
BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe priced 79,500 euros
December 19, 2011
My bad to keep commenting for Quattroporte, because in some markets, it actually isn't that much pricier than Panamera. If memory serves me correct, Quattroporte was originally (circa 2004-2005) only AUD $10-20k more expensive than M5, but now it is almost 100k away for standard model. the 5er LWB is only available in China, other part of Asia and Australia don't get it and add that China car is LHD while the rest of East, South Asia and Oceania are RHD, that car can't be imported. The 7er, on the other hand, has its own segment for people sit in the back and 7er is actually already cheaper (or on par for some variants) than 6er cabrio.
BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe priced 79,500 euros
December 19, 2011
As I expected before, this car is priced for Panamera and Quattroporte range, instead of A7 and CLS in which fill a class above A6/E-Class but below A8/S-Class. Though the car yet looks special, but I bet the design is going to age well, somehow it could be the reincarnation of first 6 which now commonly praised for being a clean design car. Personally I wouldn't mind if BMW throw a long wheelbase version with a proper 3 seats in the back, young business person in Asia and Australia are going to like it, so they don't have to follow their old man to buy common S-class, 7-series and A8, don't have to worry their young kids break the Maserati or can't properly sit in Panamera.
BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe officially unveiled
December 11, 2011
I can agree with you, if you talk for the number of hp, but let price defines it, then Panamera Turbo is closer to 650i. You are right, I have never been in Gran Coupe, but the new CLS offers acceptable headroom (thank to the less pointy back) for 180-184cm. Let see if BMW will implant the 381hp diesel and the game will change. Still I would be more than happy if BMW also introduce lower range of Gran Coupe, 628i and 625d, so I can see them more frequently (Audi needs one as well to give CLS250 CDI a hard time)
BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe officially unveiled

Compared to CLS and A7, this is the mos un-coupe model I have seen, BMW should change the rear window shape into much sleeker ala old BMW and not Honda Insipire or Accord Coupe; design wise 0 for Gran Coupe. Worst is I don't think that roof shape will pay dividend for good headroom, so another 0 point for BMW. Move to the engine, the 3.0 l diesel and petrol should be fine, but the 4.4l petrol is absolutely in danger, the power is 50hp and 100hp down to Panamera Turbo and Turbo S, Audi new twin turbo V8 should give power between 450-550hp, while CLS500 with NA engine only few hp short but better engine sound; so technically there is nothing to exaggerate, another 0 point. And please don't start talking for ride and handling, BMW is far behind Porsche and still few steps back from MB and Audi. The interior "could be" on par with CLS and Panamera, but a generation back from A7; from technology based, nothing new as well, something sad for somebody to (expectedly) pay more than Maserati Quattroporte. FYI, I am a regular user of BMW, but I acknowledge that buying S65 is way wiser than 760iL and S5 gives more for less $$$ than 335i.
2013 Dodge Dart will have 9-speed automatic trans enabling 40 mpg

CVT is great, but only for small car with small engine displacement and for 100% comfort orientation.
2013 Honda Civic Type-R comes into focus - rumors
December 3, 2011
Nothing to worry about hp, Honda will surely roll out RR, then RR-S and lastly RR-SS. It is a good marketing strategy to sell car at premium price rather than position 210hp as top range normal Civic and start the R at 250hp and push Honda to develop RR version around 280hp, then RR-S at 320hp and RR-SS at 350hp; those are too much HP and it doesn't even mention Mugen, so 400hp Civic RR-SS Mugen? That is excessive, unless it gets AWD.
2012 BMW 3-Series pricing announced (US)
November 23, 2011
Where do you drive above 130mph in US highway? I am sure that is not a aero problem, but merely a technical problem caused by different tyre. So you can still tell your mate that 328i will hit 155mph because its sibling does it, only you don't like your wife or children to try go above 130mph
