2012 Nissan Maxima gets a nip/tuck
August 31, 2011
autoficianado, I see you're either very young, or you're a resent auto enthusiast. The Maxima has been RWD before, the 1981-1984 Datsun 810 Maxima was a RWD car, with a 2.4L inline-6 gas or a 2.8 inline-6 diesel engine. Its predecessor, the Datsun 810, was also RWD.
2012 Nissan Versa / Tiida revealed in Shanghai
April 19, 2011
Tiida is the global name for this car, and Versa is only for North America. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I think it's attractive, and the interior is lovely - and I suppose that if one finds that the front is a copy of a Lexus and thinks "it still ugly as hell", then that doesn't say much for Lexus' L-Finesse styling. Well done Nissan, you will continue to trounce the small car competition with this one. After all, like it or not, the Versa is the BEST SELLING car in its class in the States, it's been that way for a long time, sorry Fiesta (I guess there's no party at Ford for that).

Hyundai Pulls Out of Japanese Market
December 2, 2009
It may seem that it has a lot to do with Hyundai's "cheap Korean image" but what needs to be considered are the relations (specifically the bad) that exist between Japan and Korea - it's deep and historical.
BTW, Toyota, Nissan and Honda had the same kind of reputation that Hyundai had from '86 to the 90's back in the early to mid 1970's. Back then, the US automakers thought that they'd never sell and they won't become anything in the US market... what a difference 30 years can make.
