Mercedes SLS AMG Meets its Ancestors

Just calling it as I see it (copied off of another website). Plus I lived 40 minutes from Sedona Arizona, and know that area rather well...

*Ahem* That would be Sedona, Arizona. Not California. It works to check the internet for the facts, not copy off of other websites.

I like you sideskraper, you wouldn't happen to be a Mechanical Engineer? Vision7, composites have mainly been used on expensive exotics for the fact that their astronomical price can support the use of expensive materials. It's only due to economies of scale that they're now being used in *cheaper* cars. Also, vision, you must have never taken a basic engineering class. The roof is one of the most important sections for a cars rigidity as a whole. Sideskraper has said all the rest, so there is no more for me to say.

Are you that ridiculously stupid norther? It has nothing to do with being green (although it is a bonus in the long run), but more having to do with the fact that oil is a precious commodity. Oil is finite, or did that slip out your brain before you insulted vertigobike? You see, oil is expected to run out in the next 20 to 50 years. Now tell me, how will you drive your gas burner with no oil? This man (I use that lightly to describe norther) is the stereotype of what got America (and makes me sad to be an American) into this depression. No foresight or intelligence what-so-ever. No I go on and applaud Brabus for finally bringing an electric version of the Smartcar, although I would've liked to have seen a motor at each wheel. I can't wait to see what new electric vehicles come out in the near future.
Audi R8 e-Tron Officially Unveiled with 4,500Nm of Torque [video]

The fun thing about using electronic motors, is that they'll only grow in efficiency. Theoretically speaking electronic motors have an infinite amount of torque, but is limited due to operating speeds, resistance and power fed to the motor. There are also a cornucopia of different varieties of electronic motors that automotive companies can use, depending on how the motor is wound and which magnets they use, etc. Also since the acceleration of these motors are instantaneous, that is there is no lag between when you start accelerating and when potential for peak torque is achieved, these cars are going to be vicious 0-60 animals (but generally electronic motors do not have a high top-end, hence why most are limited to around 125 mph).

Lol, I'm sure most of those women would laugh at the guys who're critiquing them... So that leads me to ask the more relevant question (and it's fairly obvious that most straight men and lesbo women would 'do' these pictured women), would they 'do' if they ever met you. My guess would be no.

Proof that great ideas can go wrong. This really reminds me of a Mini X6....
Aston Martin Cygnet Concept Car Revealed

No where does it say that this is a permenant thing, car-o-bar. For all we know they could still be working on a hybrid for use in several years. Thing is that for this moment, in this economic crisis where Trillions are being lost, this is by far the cheapest method for Aston Martin, which is a smart idea. Saving every little last dollar helps in the long run. Also lets not forget that design, and implementation of a hybrid would take time. Ironically in this market time is of the essence. Aston Martin did a great thing for their brand image, showing that they "too care about the environment" by creating an eco-friendly car as opposed to Aston strictly making gas-guzzling, tree eating cars. Also if they give the car away with ever car purchase, then the Mini-Aston is still just as exclusive and will show that at home you have an Aston Martin but today you decided to save a few birds from choking an exhaust. The parent could even give their kid the car to take to school, and will show "Hey everybody my dad has an Aston Martin." Now tell me how the Cayenne was not an Anti-Porsche image? The Cayenne made purists all accross the world scream in agony. They all screamed "This maker of fine two-door sport coup?s is making a bloated SUV with a massive engine thrown in the front!" Porschephiles sayed they'd never buy a Porsche again because of the Cayenne. Fastforward six years and everyone has just about forgotten about how the Cayenne "is not a Porsche" and they've grown to accept the fact that the Cayenne saved Porsche. Sir, I believe it is you who has no sense of brand imaging.

All the purists said that the Cayenne was a dumb idea, but it allowed Porsche to create newer and better iterations of the Carrera and Boxster. It allowed them to re-enter racing on the factory level, and will allow them to continue on (minus the whole failed hostile VW take-over). The same will be true if Aston has a hit on their hands. I think I'd rather swallow my pride and allow this vehicle (which looks like a caracture version of the DBS) to exist than have Aston slowly sink under during this ecnomic crisis and 'green revolution.' Dare I say: if you're a true car fan, you'd applaud this car coming to market.
Qatar Closing On 25% Porsche Stake
June 19, 2009
You must have forgotten that Qatar is one of the most forward looking arabic countries. They have established many new world-renowned technical institutes within their country, and plan on being a technological tour-de-force. They are currently building several new cities, one which will be a 'green-city,' although it is still to be seen how 'green' it will be after all is said and done. Also lets not forget that most of their money has been made on natural gas and not oil. Qatar is considered "the Saudi Arabia of natural gas," therefore I do not find it ironic that "their oil money" is investing in Porsche. I personally think that this investment will help Porsche in the long run, giving them access to billions of dollars for R&D and racing which allows Porsche to make more money and better cars.
