This engine is expected to produce up to 400 bhp (300 kW) and 400 lb?ft (542 N?m) of torque, in order to make the Mustang GT more competitive with the Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger which both offer engines with greater output. It is also speculated that the aging 4.0 L V6 will be replaced by a 315 horsepower version of the Duratec 37 3.7 L DOHC V6, an engine currently used in the Lincoln MKS. In order to keep a significant difference between the V6 and GT models, the 365 horse Ecoboost engine will not be used in the Mustang. Also, the GT500 will receive an aluminum block"
