2010 Ford Taurus Spied Let's clear up some things. The Ford Taurus will use Ford's European design influence but it will not be an American version of the Ford Mondeo. The future North American Ford Fusion (not the European Fusion) will eventually turn into the American version of the Mondeo (EUCD platform). The new Taurus is supposed to use a modified version of the Ford D3 platform (a.k.a. the Volvo P2 platform). Correct me if I am wrong but the Ford CD3 platform and Volvo d-platform are one and the same (although tweaked by Volvo). This is why the European Ford Focus ST uses a Volvo five-cylinder engine. So I doubt the next Taurus will use the d-platform.
