The CLK never matched up to the standards of a 6 series, thats one of the main reasons for the release of the CLS, same price range, and the supercharged 55, to compete with the M6. The only down fall was there was no cabriolet. The high side is that the CLS just ended up creating a new market, which brought the idea to Merc to drop the ClK, make a "E" coupe/cab to compete against the 6 series and a5, And a upcoming "C" coupe/cab to go against the 3-series and a4.

Chris Bangle was one of the most influential designers in the industry, until he got humbled by the criticism the last 7 series. In my opinion, the last 7 is a beautiful car, a piece of s*#$, but a good looking one. The new 7 isnt ugly, its just way to conservative. I admired the fact that BMW was coming out with these dramatic designs such as the last 7, the 6 series and Z4. And was glad that Mercedes got there head out there ass and followed the trend (CLS) and applied it to there current vehicles;(S,C, new E-class). Which brings me to the current point, this "sport wagon" is bloated, and boring.
