Lauda thinks FIA should punish Ferrari
July 29, 2010
Come on guys lets get real, we are talking motor racing not some politicaly correct game. Ferrari in my humble opinion can ask or tell their drivers to move over for the team member who has the best shot at the championship. It has always been like that, but like the rest of the World, Big Brother (FIA) must call the shots and control the action, leave motor sport and F1 in particular be and make the rules less restrictive. let Cosworth build a V8, Ferrari a V12 and Mercedes a V10 if thats what they want to do, why must all have a V8? they all sound the same now, pity!!!
Group seeks state support for South African GP

Cape Town while very scenic does not have the population that Johannesburg/Gauteng has and the utilization of a circuit would be less. However the Killarney circuit is getting a bit long in the tooth so the Cape could do with a boost. How about Durban? closer to Johannesburg and does not have a track at all and amazing tapogrophy. Keep Tilke at bay.
Schumacher 'deserves support' says Mercedes' Haug
July 16, 2010
Please Mr Haug call Rory Bryne and ask him very nicely to come back for a couple of years and do a car for Michael. Ross is a great strategist but all of Schumies championship cars were Rory Byrne designs. Come on Rory give the scuba diving a break for a while.
Renault seat not likely for Villeneuve return

Vex you really must engage your brain before hitting the keyboard. If you had any real understanding of motor racing you would know that disregarding any drivers parentage or contacts, he has to be a seriously good driver to get into F1 disregarding any contacts and favours. If you have ever mixed it with real racing drivers you would not make the kind of comments you have just made.

If the track is long enough and the elevation changes are what they look like, then it will be a great track compared to the sound stage sadpits that Tilke normally designs and he should not be allowed to mess with the design, only the spectator areas. All the classic tracks follow the natural contours and are far greater challenges, and the TV cameras must fit in where they can. Good luck Monticello MC.
Media, pundits divided over Schumacher penalty
May 19, 2010
It's good that Schumie is a bit controversial again he is getting back to his old self. Once the Honda, Brawn, Mercedes car is built to the right spec (one season on one off) then Schumie will be will the young dogs again. Perhaps M-B should get Rory Burne back from his scuba school in Thailand to (help) design another Championship car for M S. He designed all seven of the other cars, perhaps he knows better as to what works for M S.
Ford posts $2.08-billion profit
April 28, 2010
Well done Ford, you guys have always had a better idea, keep up the efforts while the General and Toyota are trying to sort out their problems. Don't try to be the biggest just the best.
Bugatti Veyron is a 'piece of junk' - McLaren Boss Ron Dennis
April 13, 2010
Mr Dennis is a bit cheeky but is just stiring the pot, the Veyron is pig ugly and with all the power and technology I wonder how long it would live with a Mac F1 in the Alps before it fryed its brakes and engine. Regarding the engines to make big power is no big deal nowdays but a well balanced chassis and efficient body with light weight is always the correct answer. The Veyron was designed by a committee to showcase technology and the F1 by Gordon Murray to showcase expertise. Ron do a course on diplomacy even though you are right.
80 percent of BMW 1-Series drivers think the car is a front-wheel drive

As Motor companies grow and expand their model ranges by necessity the volume cars become more bland and user friendly for the masses. The DNA of the cars that created the brand is diluted. Provided that the company still produces the niche models that are the cornerstone of the brand this is OK and can not be avoided, you have standard models and specialist models as a result. This is where M division, AMG, SVO etc etc comes into play. This has to happen when the company's are volume players.
