They import their cars (1 Series) into Australia anyway, so what's there to be viable and how much more difficult is it to add a few more 3 door hatches tothe price list??? In times like these, companies should try to be as flexible as possible. If people in Australia wants the 3 door, give them the choice of a 3 door. Don't come with this viable rubbish!

I must agree with the size of these cars that are growing all the time, but the current 3 is a decent size although it is as big as the 7 series from 30 years ago... but it is what we need today. Talking of size, nothing can compare to the rediculous A4's size that is as big as the current A6 without much more benefit in cabin space from the older A4. The Q7, which is an X5 competitor is also rediculously huge and cannot even fit in most garages. When the 1 Sereis starts growing, I wonder if they will have a 0 Series or "negative" Series lol

Correct, BMW got the WGCOTY because tehir cars are most efficient and enviro friendly + they are made in an efficient and enviro friendly manner as well... so much so that they commented tht the VW Group (including Audi) shouold start producing cars with "care to the environment". The point of this car (116d) is so that the people in Britain can pay less on tax for this car as well. Consumers now-a-days are conserned with mpg and efficiency and CO2 emmissios (tax). Audi came up with the rubbish 1.4T, so why can BMW not come up with a more stately 116d with a 2l engine, which is a more stately car from a more stately brand at about the same price for its customers?
