All-New Ford Falcon Revealed The new Falcon looks to be pretty darn awesome...problem is that there's a lot of speculation in Oz at the moment about the Falcon's future. The ol' "it's too big/too thirsty/waning sales/save the whales" discussion perpetuated by Prius drivers. It's a real shame it isn't made in LHD for export like the Holden Commodore as this could guarantee its future. I read in a car mag a few years ago it was to do with politics within Ford global (exporting the Falcon could mean a huge cut in jobs etc. in North America/Canada). Damn shame, too, because the classic big motor/rear wheel drive combo is getting pretty rare these days...

Ford Falcon SR Special Edition (AU) Went to the Brisbane Motorshow last night...the Falcon showing was pretty low-key compared to previous years. Lutzie is right - the new 'Orion' model Falcon is due for release in mid February. This model (the BA) dates back to 2003ish but still looks pretty good. I have to agree that the Falcon looks better than the Taurus and so on - it would be awesome if it was sold in North America but according to the car mags Ford Oz has no LHD plans at this stage. This is just the base spec model...the XR series and the FPV Typhoon (turbo-6) and GT (V8) look a whole lot better!
