Audi TT-RS Roadster Spy Photos

Clearly, the decision makers at Audi want this Audi TT-RS prototype to be seen. Normally, test prototype design details are cleverly concealed out of sight with camouflage of some sort or color blending. However, in this case, Audi is broadcasting the signature RS characteristics on this TT Roadster by highlighting them in contrasting black.

For our blind readers, the blue TT-S Roadster is displaying an aggressive front bumper fascia in black with enlarged air intakes, large black split 5-spoke wheels (perhaps 18-inch in size) and rear bumper fascia with twin oval exhaust pipes masked in black. Lastly, let's not forget the black fabric folding roof top.

We know Audi is capable of being more inconspicuous as we recall from a few days ago another TT-RS proto wearing all-black. However, we presume Audi is looking for feedback as they analyze Internet chatter emanating from sites like WCF about a Roadster RS version.

So what do you think? Should Audi bother with a 340-350 horsepower supercharged 3.0 liter V6 roadster variant of the TT-RS? Leave a comment below.

Audi are the leaders of the "new school".

BMW and Mercedes simply can't keep up any more. Their car designs are FAR superior looking to any new Merc or BMW.

In case any of the big guys are listening:

Sure, we welcome a TT with better performance. The TT always had the look of a sports car but it fell just a little short when compared. However, that did not stop many enthusiast to take matters into their own hands and prove that the TT had "it" in it. with a few mild mods it proved to take on bigger contenders.

as far as looks goes: please reconsider the front air intakes on the bumper. those extrusion along the top of the inlet disrupt the fluidity of the smooth-round lines the TT is known for. by removing the extrusion it will "clean up" and pull the front end a little better. as far as the Rear end goes, it seems like they are hiding some sort of rear difuser under the skin but it looks like it works.

As far as the RS model line goes. it seems like Audi has gone away from the widening the fenders, whether it be to gain a little more top speed for bragging rights or improved aerodynamics or save cost has yet to be disclosed, but as a buyer we would rather see the aggressive widened stance we will see everyday as oppossed to the couple MPH's most will never see. not to mention the added visual of differentiating the RS over standard models.

Wow I didnt think the roadster would come out so soon. I would think this would come years after the coupe has been on market. After looking at the RS coupe, I know this will just be another killer.

I think a TT-RS roadster would be welcome and very cool, though I see two potential problems:

1. an RS model should look more different and more aggressive than this (it looks like a very mild-tuned TT-S)

2. isn't this one going to trouble the posessions of their new Stuttgart-based owner (shortly: isn't this going to be a Boxster eater ?)
