Already launched in Thailand last month, the all-new third-generation Honda City will hit Australian streets from February 2009. However, for the Australian International Motor Show, Honda is presenting a futuristic City model in concept form.

Foreshadowing the styling possibilities of the new light car, the City Concept features a redesigned front end with custom LED headlamps, fog lamps and tail lights, redesigned mirrors, 17-inch wheels and lowered ride height.

The production version of the City is powered by the same 1.5 litre EURO4 compliant engine that is found in its subcompact hatchback counterpart, the Jazz VTi and Vti-S. It delivers 88kW @ 6600rpm and 146Nm @ 4700rpm.

The City will be available in two trim levels priced from $17,990 to $21,990.

those headlamps looks like a very cheap tuning joke.

Not a bad car, but nothing flash either... not that they were going for performance car of the year.

A nicer alternative to the cheaper small sedans out there like the horrible Tiida.
