First Video: Seat Exeo
The new(ish) Seat Exeo sedan was unveiled in the presence of the world's media for the first time last week at the Paris Motor Show. It is based on the previous generation Audi A4 platform which began life back in 2001, meaning this is little more than a re-badged model. However we shouldn't forget the 2001 Audi A4 played a strong role in bringing the premium brand to where it is today and it would be premature to say the same platform couldn't help Seat make similar strides in the industry.
At launch there will be a choice of six engines, all of which meet the strict Euro-5 emissions standards. Three pretol engines bless the Exeo with power output ranging from 102HP (75kW) to 200HP(147 kW), the remaining diesel options generate between 120hp (88kW) and 170HP (123kW).
Pricing will start in the region of €22,000 for the base Reference trim level, there will also be Stylance and Sport trim levels available but specifications and equipment details are yet to be released. What has been released however is this new video showing a little driving footage of the new Seat Exeo along with a short exert of beauty footage.

horrible idea.. :(
This car is like going to an outlet store and buying a suit with the brand label tag cut off!
If they continue to do this Audi will never be regarded in the same league as MB or BMW. Real luxury brands like Hermes and Louis Vuitton don't operate factory outlets because it offends those people that shop at their regular shops. (There is also some bull-sh!t that one of their brand managers told me that outlet stores also insult the people that make the products because they are regarded as "craftsman" and their pride would be ruined if the fruit of their labor was sold at outlets or at deep discounts.)
People who buy premium cars don't want some bloke buying a car from a lower level market driving the same thing he's driving...for less money.
But then again...they bought what is an expensive VW with rings on the grill in the first place...so maybe they don't mind.
...about what?
I am a SEAT fan and I think this is an opportunity for SEAT to be considered a serious contender in the market again. Of course it is a easely produced vehicle but given it works (and I know in my country people were waiting for a normal sedan and wagon from SEAT that don't look like a ducktail (Toledo)) in a few years (maybe 5) they won't make another rehash but give it a new styling altogether. People that buy today an Audi A4 don't drive the same thing as this and will therefore be a huge step ahead. Imagine if more companies did this, instead of wasting resources by throwing away the whole Louis Vuitton collection from 2007 that could not be sold, you offer last years collection in an outlet. The people that buy from the regular shop are still a huge step ahead and wouldn't even wear something from last year, so what's the point in wasting.
Elitism is a bad thing.
It may be the same company but this is just SO WRONG.
I think it's like this: When a car is fresh it will be An AUDI as this target audience has the most money, As the car is becoming stale, It becomes a SEAT, So now they can sell it to people who have less money than Audi customers, until it eventually becomes a SKODA. HA HA.
PS, THIS IS MY OWN OPINON SO DON'T SHOOT ME DOWN.
