Nissan Pathfinder Facelift Spy Photos

Despite the car’s giant thirst and huge dimensions, the Nissan Pathfinder is a relatively successful car even in times of high energy costs and CO2-discussions. The Japanese make has therefore decided to give the car a very minor mid-life facelift only, a hardly visible remake of the front and rear bumpers – and maybe a slight change of the grille. We can’t spot modifications to the grille yet, but it’s the heavy disguise there that makes us guess. All the rest of the exterior plus the car’s underpinnings, mechanics, engines and the interior will be left unchanged until the new model will arrive some day after 2012.

Why does it?

by Bada_Bing | September 16, 2008 7:44 PM
Because while all the other jap manufacts are going conservative and boring, nissan is going sportier and exciting.

pzigly, you find the nissan pathfinder interesting? it is a boring box

by BabyMilo | September 17, 2008 2:04 AM
Its powerful!!! It has the 0-60 time better than most cars. It can tow whatever boat u want. It feels better than most suv's that i have driven. If I had a boat, I would probably get that car.

Sorry i fell asleep

I agree it looks better than years of old , i dont think its anymore powerful than a land rover disco , 0-60 in an SUV im sure thats what people look at when towing a boat ! You say about towing Any boat i want , well thats a strong claim to make without any evidence that it actually can tow them.

It probably looks like the facelifted USDM Pathfinder: http://www.worldcarfans.com/2070516.004/2008-nissan-pathfinder-pricing-announced

the v6 version can tow 6000lbs!!! "v6"!!! and i think the v8 can tow 8000lbs. and 0-60 in the mid 6 seconds is for when ur not towing............

Pzigly you sure are a dickhead! the Pathfinder is indeed a boring ugly box. Go have a look @ Mitsubishi's Triton ute and the upcoming Challenger 4wd to see a good looking stylish Jap car.

by Davethepetrolhead | September 17, 2008 11:45 AM
Why am I a dickhead, because I like a car? Are u a moron? If u ever drove the car or seen it up close, its not boring. It still manages to look good eventhough it is made for utility. U can even drive it off road and fit 7 in it. and its not expensive.

by pzigly | September 17, 2008 9:47 PM
OK it's obvious your a Nissan fan (nothing wrong with that)Yes i have drove a Pathfinder and its nothing special to drive..But it seems you can't handle someone having a different opinion to your own other ppl besides me think it's a box & you seen to attack anyone that says the slighest thing about Nissans did you even bother to look @ the Triton ute and Challenger? hardly boring & conservative.

by Davethepetrolhead | September 18, 2008 7:58 AM
uve just driven the pathfinder but not driven it hard and the new one is 10x better than the old one. Any car u drive normally will feel ok. Its when u ring its neck to find out if its worth it. Also i agreed that it was a box but most FULL size suv's are. The cars u are talking about are not in the pathfinders class. all of my comments stated fact and no opinion. I might like nissan but I dont let that get in the way of facts. If someone says a comment based on nonsense about a car i like yes I will defend it by fact.

I don't know what country you,re in but here in Australia the Triton & soon to be released Challenger competes with Navara & Pathfinder twins. The Pathfinder i drove was a turbo-diesel which runs out of grunt way too soon at 2.5 litres its way too small for such a big car And back to your original comment you said (ALL THE OTHER) Jap cars are conservative & boring compared to Nissans i think the Triton & Challenger are not.

by Davethepetrolhead | September 18, 2008 10:57 AM
all engines here are patrol USA

by pzigly | September 18, 2008 11:50 AM
when i said jap cars i was refering to toyota and honda. mazda and mitsu stepping up

by pzigly | September 18, 2008 11:55 AM
the pathfinder here has a 4.0L v6 and can tow 6000lbs. It also comes in a v8 315hp and 380 torque. Thats y ur so mad u have the weak engines there.

by pzigly | September 18, 2008 11:49 AM
We also get the 4.0 litre V6 just not the petrol guzzling V8

by Davethepetrolhead | September 18, 2008 12:00 PM
it only guzzles about 2 mpg more. If i had a boat I would either get the pathfinder or if im making money, I would get the infinity QX56 (8,900lbs) towing and room for 7 or 8 people.

by pzigly | September 18, 2008 1:25 PM
Only 2mpg more fuel huh. so does that mean the V8 has good economy or the V6 has sh!t economy. As for the Infinity we don't have them in Aus anymore they died a very quick death in the early 90s

by Davethepetrolhead | September 18, 2008 1:59 PM
lol that v6 is a monster. And the car is heavy.

by pzigly | September 18, 2008 5:50 PM
feels like very minor updates to the grills & headlamp .
