Rendered Speculation: Ferrari 430 Scuderia Spider

When rumours of a model as mouthwatering as an open-top version of the Ferrari 430 Scuderia surface, one thing you can guarantee is that the first renderings are not far round the corner. We can now tell you that this corner is now sitting firmly in our rear view mirrors after expert renderer and photoshopper Jon Sibal has put together this small of group of renderings for the world to peer over.

If the rumours are true and the spider variant of the 430 Scuderia does actually make it to production, we could well see it as early November 5th at the Ferrari Challenge at Mugello. A retractable hardtop roof will feature instead of a lighter convertible fabric which means the super light Scuderia Spider will see 70kg added to its dry weight. Ferrari will counter this performance dropping weight gain by incorporating its brand new 7-speed dual clutch transmission system which will debut in the brand new Ferrari California.

No more than 300 units are expected to be produced come production time.

I don't think Ferrari is going to incorporate a hard top because they would need to change a lot on the car if anything they would make a hard top 430 n keep the weight down on the scuderia by making it a soft top, what im saying is theres just to much work to be done to make it a hard top unlike the california its a rear mid engine car meaning there's no room for the top to go anywhere unless u drop it on the engine cover which will look really ugly. Also the dual clutch trans wont make its way into the Scuderia spyder if theres going to be one because if u have a coupe then the spyder is going to be just like it all the same parts n options. So concluding Ferrari if they make a Scuderia Spyder will be just like the coupe but have a rag top which may even be do it ur self to open n close just to save weight that sounds more logical.

My 3rd point that i didnt include is Ferrari would never make a spyder scuderia, was there a 360 challenge spyder um no, this is just like a challenge car a striped out faster version of the f430 so y would ferrari make a spyder well only if there was enough demand for it n if it was some what logical.

But hey love the pics it looks amazing as a spyder but kinda ruins it cause u do lose a lot of strength with the top being gone n those floor support frames do add a bit of weight so but w/e the f430 spyder is .1 sec slower than the coupe so will see.

I honestly doubt it. Making a spider version just wastes the whole point of the Scuderia, its suppose to be a lighter faster version of the F430. We never saw a spider of the 360 challenge Stradale, and I don't think we'll see one for the Scuderia.

maybe the whole point of this car was to make a lighter faster version of the f430 spyder? Not just of the F430.

1 Question: Why?

why would some one want a convertible spyder the only reason it was good was that it was exelent around a track if they take the roof off it will be ok no special reson to get one.

One word: Looks.

If I were Ferrari, instead of making a retractable hardtop or fabric roof, I'd do without the convertible altogether and make a carbon fiber hard top separate from the car. It's probably not the most practical way to deal with installation and might require two people, but most owners who buy this version aren't making performance/aero dynamics priority #1 anyway; especially considering that it's not going to be an everyday driver.

btw, red should be the mandatory color for all Ferrari's. This spider, if the pics indicate an accurate depiction of the production version, is a stunner!

Sorry Rob, im with you on the CF detachable Roof, Buyers would buy it like that for sure. However on the Mandatory Red for Ferraris i have to agree, personally i like Ferraris in "Argento Nurburgring" or "NART Blu".

I really hope they don't make the convertible Scuderia, that would just go against everything they tried to achieve with the normal Scuderia. Obviously if they go ahead with this convertible then it would probably be to make more money and not to produce a car like the Scuderia as u are seeing them do with the california. I mean they tried to get every single milli second out the Scuderia and barley just made it.... It would be stupid to make a convertible and make it harder on them selfs unless they are hopping people would not care too much on the performance comparison between the normal one and buy it anyways. It does look amazing though.
