Surprise! Michael Schumacher Caught Speeding In Germany

Retired seven time Formula 1 world champion, Michael Schumacher, was caught and fined by German police for speeding near his home town of Karpen, Germany recently.

This latest incident follows a recent accident involving Michael in a Fiat van and a used car salesman in the UK, but this time Michael was driving an Audi A4 Cabriolet. The German police stopped Schumacher for driving 140 km/h in a 100 zone. Technically, Schumacher should have had his license suspended but instead received 3 points and a €75 fine.

Michael, who is a member of the Commission for Global Road Safety is quoted as saying, "I'm very sorry, this is something not in my character. Driving fast should only be done on a track."

The guy can drive better at 200 mph (320 km/h) than most Europeans at 100 mph (160 km/h)...

So...?

...BUT if he causes an accident or injury, then that's different

Sorry but that's rubbish. German police has no leeway towards the ban, points and fine. He will receive a ban like anyone else driving at that speed. It is his decision however to go to court and appeal against the ban. He may just as well not care and spend the time banned in Switzerland where he lives.

Why was Schumacher driving an A4 cabriolet, nat that its a bad car, but I am surprised, he wouldnt be driving a RS4 Cabriolet instead.

Apparently he has the new M3 Cab, this was one of his friend's car. He should be setting an example and not speeding. Afterall who does he think he is - he was a loser that's why he had to retire. He could not manage to win another title, that's why he left and now he speeds on our roads and put others at risk.

HE WAS A LOSER ?!!! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT ?!!!! in his last race alone he came all the way from near last place all the way up into 4th...even if his car was/is better...thats still an accomplishment ONLY he can acheive. NO ONE else has proven that they're as good as Schumi...NO ONE.

One off-season doesn't mean Jack. I could guarantee Schumi had one more championship in him...and this is me talking, a guy who has heavy distaste for the F1 Ferrari team.

Speeding is the term politician and police use to describe an innocent and skillful way of driving. This is to justify their way to fine you and be cocky and authoritive and abuse the power that's given by the people.

After all dats the autobahn, a freeway, and he wasn't doing over over the limit. So what? Those who can't bear it should just spend their time in the Boom Boom car or take a defense driving lesson.

Crap, the ban would only occur if he would be driving 41 or more km/h over the speed limit or if it happened inside a town.

Schumis my boy, i've 140 in a 100 countless times, i do it carefully but nonetheless there are many who do about the same. Like some one else said, it can happen to everybody. Everybody hating on Schumi should stop being Jealous little women. He's better than you and me and he ALWAYS will be, at least from an automotive stand-point, get over it. Don't Hate, Appreciate.

Why is he driving a crappy car like that, an really old small engined Audi with a carpet on top, dont get me wrong, i love Audis but he does have nicer cars thats even more practical. And now we know Germans dont give a crap about speeding. 75? fine for over 40 kmh speeding???? In Finland the fine would have been a few million euros with his money.
