We got a first glimpse of the facelifted version of the Lexus IS last month when a few scans of the model's official brochure leaked out, the images were little more than teasers though, showing only small details of the model. New images of the model have now surfaced, after the Japanese automaker bypassed the more conventional method of releasing content through the press and posted the official photos on a number of its websites.

Blink and you may miss the new 2009 model, updates are kept to a minimum. The front bumper has received some minor changes giving it an aggressive spoiler type look, the side mirrors get an update too. Other changes previously reported on but unconfirmed include new 17 and 18in alloys, new exterior colors, and a new Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) stability control system.

We expect to see the model debut at the Paris Motor Show next month, therefore it shouldn't be too long before full official details are released.

Ok really now, why update and keep the updates to a minimum? This one looks identical to the current model.

If anything else has changed, (other that tailights)it should be considered as a 'rear-lift.' NOTHING I can really notice has changed on the front.

Facelift...? What facelift? Seems like these modern-day facelifts amount to nothing.

These designers should get a job with the Government... they don't do anything either!

Style Edition?!?!?!?! EPIC FAIL!!!

Yes if it was a cruiser or a limo or a family car- Create a boring smooth contourless design!

ITS A SPORTS CAR! or a sporty car at the least! Make it LOOK like one! why does LEXUS try to make something NEW? STICK TO UR BORING CARS! no one wants a lexus styled sports car .... Heck i would rather get a TOYOTA styled sports care than one designed by lexus... i aint 60 and need to be put to sleep!

p.s- i do know toyota lexus is the same company but recently toyota has more aggressive designs than lexus.

I hope you're kidding about the 'Toyota has more aggresive styling than Lexus' thing. Toyota happens to be one of the most boring cars on the market today. =/

what is the diferrents.

No ENGINE Choose! This car's design doesn't need an update, it needs more ENGINES; economical 4 cylinders, more Diesel engines and Diesel Engines with automatic transmission, without this forget sales in EUROPE.

I would agree with you there.

Toyota owns 50% of Daihatsu and 9% of Subaru. Swipe one from Subaru... Alternatively it could swipe one from Daihatsu, but somehow I don't think that'll work either!

hahahaha nice joke lexus, i dont see any difference...

I like this car... I really like Lexus. Admittedly though this isn't much of a facelift although I'm happy they're updating the things I didn't really like about the current IS; namely the alloys and paint colours.

by Decypha | September 4, 2008 9:14 AM
Damn! this car has gotten any younger. It still looks boring...

by Wisp | September 4, 2008 10:52 AM
I like this Lexus. But where is the facelift again???

by The_woo_factor | September 4, 2008 1:03 PM
I like it. Only slight changes... no more is needed by my opinion. You should be more pissed at Volkswagen for making a "whole new golf" when it's just a facelifted V :p

those mirrors look like they fit a bus

by Franko | September 5, 2008 1:39 PM
the dashboard is really tacky,so cheap no wonder the standard list of features is so long

by Franko | September 5, 2008 2:01 PM
The IS is good looking, no major changes needed.

by AE86 | September 6, 2008 9:41 PM
WOW.

Did you guys see the CTS? It's awesome. XD

(ok, on a real note, theres nothing wrng with this car, no need to change nething.)
