2010 Ford Mustang Hood Found Alone without a Body

This poor little hood has been left all alone, it may have even slipped everyone's attention had it not been for the kind and informative writing confirming it is the outer cover for the 2010 Ford Mustang. It was posted on forum site mustangforums when one of its users father caught a shot of it whilst at work.

Styling of the new model will be inspired by the Mustang Giugaro Concept which received much acclaim when it was unveiled at the 2006 LA Auto Show, this fact is evident by the design lines running along the length of this stray Mustang hood.

Ford have confirmed a new 5.0-liter V8 engine will find its way to the engine bay, it is rumoured this engine may also be supercharged or turbocharged. Other engines set to be offered include the twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost and possibly a turbocharged four-cylinder as well.

Countdown to the full unveiling of the model at the Los Angeles Auto Show has already begun with the new 2010 Ford Mustang mini site.

Yeah it's kinda like a tradition here on WCF to compare everything with the Audi R8. For me it's this hood's taillights that reminds me of the Audi...

Fabrizio's Mustang was beautiful because he got the proportions and detailing correct. (I especially love the rear) If Ford can pull that off, which is questionable, and stuff a decent rear suspension in this thing (doesn't have to be sophisticated, just independent) it just might be competitive. Especially since the V6 Mustang will make at least 350HP. This hood shows Ford is heading in the right direction.

If it does not look like that Pony in the link, this car is going to look like the ones already out now, save for some fender flares and this hood that adds little to nothing new of the overall design.

I hope Ford does not botch this one up. I feel almost 80% they will botch it, but I hope that 20% of me becomes the victor in the prediction of what this car will look like.

But since Ford is doing such stupid antics like this, I bet they will show a picture of the gear shifter, carpet lint, windscreen wiper lever, and maybe a microscopic zoom in view of the stitching of the seat.

Ford better be careful not to build too much hype and then release a flop. They may never regain 3rd or 2nd place again in largest auto maker.

One thing you could be sure of is Ford will make another quite mediocre Mustang. They have done so for the past four generations of Mustangs. They were all nothing more than warmed-over updates of the previous ones. And everyone looks at each other and thinks why are people buying Japanese and European instead of doing the patriotic thing and buy American? Customers don't like buying crap and the Big Three (GM, Ford, Chrysler) will continue to lose market share until they raise their game. Fords are pathetic, both the family and the company.

Well, after some more gazing at the Mustang with Camo on, said to be the 2010 Mustang, Ford is done. They'll might as well hand over the crown to Chevy. I was hoping they would stick to the concept design, like the one in the link I posted, but they aren't. They'd rather sacrifice a very decent car as that, for just another regular one since it saves the execs money and they can become fatter with their money, while losing more market share. Ford, I am severly disappointed. What ever happened to their kinetic design philosophy? It has a good idea, but they are not investing in it.
