Rendered Speculation: Aston Martin One-77

As soon as David Richards & Co took over the Aston Martin brand that had stagnated under the stewardship of Ford, the rumours began to surface of a new supercar being launched. These rumours were confirmed to be true just a few short weeks a go when the British marque released the first teaser image of the One-77.

For some people this teaser image wasn't enough, especially in the eyes of designer Jon Sibal who has created this new rendering of the model, you may also remember Jon for the superb rendering published here on WCF of the Mercedes McLaren SLR Roadster.

Details about the model were left very much to the rumour mill, it is believed that the power will come from a hand-built 7.0 liter V12 engine which will be housed nicely inside a chassis made of aluminium and carbon fiber.

A total of 77 examples of the model will be made of the creatively named (NOT!!) One-77, pricing will be upwards of £1million putting it at the same level as the Bugatti Veyron. This means we should see a performance matching this price, the 0-60mph time is expected to sit below 3.5 seconds with top speed probably going above 200mph.

now thats hot. I thought the DB9 was hot, this is off the scale. Though Aston martin is far to conservitive when it comes to their designs, so this rendering will not even be close to what we will see on the street. too bad though.

pure sex... and i thought the DBS was sex on wheels. pssh haha... imagine if they actually made the car exactly like this... almost like the reventon in styling, but far less obviously.

How cliche to say a brand stagnated under Ford. In fact, Aston Martin was the lone exception. They did anything but stagnate over the past 10-15 years. Think about the success of the DB7, DB9 (and the VH-platform), V8 Vantage and Roadster.

Afreed. Aston was producing way under a hundred cars a year before Ford.

i think the artist has poorly underestimated aston martin and david richards.

IMO the one-77 is more than an expensive veyron competitor. Aston Martin and David Richards LOVES racing. the One-77 will have iterations that will possibly compete in other racing classes they are not attacking now.

perhaps we will see them in LMP1 or LMP2.

I can see some cues to the AM and the MB merger already. Look at the door and that front bumper.

What the heck is this? a Merc SLR, No! it's an Aston - Oh!! really. Looks Fong Kong to me.

Aston did NOT stagnate under Ford. That's somewhat unfair.
