Camo does little to hide the styling

Following on from the Mercury Mariner we brought to you yesterday, we now have the pictures of a 2010 Ford Fusion prototype, it features the same black and white camoflage which once again does little to hide the true styling of the model.

The front end of the model gets a massive redesign with a taller grille featuring three thick horizontal bars, horizontally opposed lights and larger air intakes on the sides. Changes to the rear end are a little more subtle, but the spoiler sitting on the boot lid certainly add to the models sportier look.

Under th hood we should see an upgraded 2.5-liter in-line 4 with a horsepower rating around 200 bhp, as well as an anticipated 15-20% boost in fuel economy. The Fusion shown here is powered by a 3.0-liter V6.

The front end needs more work. Those three thick, horizontal bars need to go. However, not bad overall. Keep going Ford, you're almost there.

What a piece of crap. Why on earth should anybody buy this car? They just don't get it. Detroit's already dead.

Josh, if Detroit is dead, you are also probably dead... Don't forget not to saw the branch on which you are sat.

This camo just gets more attention then if they were to paint the entire car black... what Ford needs to do is send over the European models to the US, like the Mondeo! Now that is a great Ford! Better than what they sell in the US anyway...

give us the mondeo, not some warmed over USA junk. why do they not listen to the consumers, then they would sell cars again. the number crunchers have ruined all the usa car manufacturers and it is only going downhill. looks like another rental car special for hertz

200hp 2.5 liter engine? Isn't this a Hybrid engine, the one that will appear in the 2010 Mercury Milan?

Really like the colouring. Suits it when u cant see the real shapes it does it justice as one may say.

I actually like the front grill, not cause i like "Bling" or showy peices but because it makes all new Fords look like a FORD. With those grill inserts, now you won't mistake a Ford for just some other mundane car. It might be just another one, but at least it looks different. Ohh and if this car continues to use Mazda6 underpinnings, then it will continue to be a very good car.
