If you are mega Corvette enthusiast and have a shed load of cash, we have got a conversion worth hearing about. Blue Fusion who are better known for being a supplier for Ford have released the first details of the Rossi 66, a Corvette C6 based model that will be unveiled at the SEMA show this November. But despite this unveiling happening at what is better known as the tuner show, Blue Fusion are quick to point out that this is no kit car.
Consumers are expected to supply the Corvette C6/ZO6/ZR1 which will be stripped, remoddled and converted to one of two body styles, initially Blue Fusion will only offer a three door coupe but later on a fully functioning convertible version will be offered as well. They will take advantage of the advanced chassis on the Corvette and use an infinite number of suppliers to create the unique product. Various trim levels will be offered including Sport and Competition version as well as a full racetrack model for the GT2 class.

The Rossi 66 was entirely designed and engineered digitally and is the culmination of nearly 100 years of combined experience amongst three of the most experienced automotive designer, sculptor, and engineer in the business. Emphasis added...this is NOT a kit car!
The Rossi 66 will be built to order from a new C6, a C6/Z06/ZR1 or a customer supplied C6 donor chassis to be transformed in our own facilities. The initial offering is a three door coupe with a fully functioning convertible to be developed in the near future. Along with those two variants, there will also be various stages of Sport and Competition versions up to and including a GT2 class type for full on-track racing applications.
As we all know, the substantial capabilities of the C6 chassis and the vast respective tuning suppliers will allow infinite possibilities for a broad range of customer tastes. Partnership with these existing C6 tuners may be negotiated in the future. Also offered from Rossi will be custom designed one-piece/multi-piece light weight Rossi forged wheels, Rossi big brake kits, Rossi custom exhaust system, Rossi appointed interior trims and seating along with many other custom accessories designed specifically for this brand.
The parent corporation, Blue Fusion, has been a Tier One surfacing supplier for Ford Motor Company for over 15 years and is both ISO9001 and Ford Q1 certified (higher than ISO rating scale). Production tolerances will be of the highest in the automotive industry. This includes Class-A surfacing and the fit and finish will be competitive with the best of modern production releases.
Our debut target is to introduce a full running production vehicle to be displayed at SEMA 2008 (investment capitol dependent). The design is near completion and tooling is set to begin next month in September. The original still looks better. Couldn't they have made either the car or background a different color though? I can't hardly see what I'm looking at!
The only thing I don't like is the part they can't change... The windshield. It is out of proportion to the rest of the car. The old Stingrays are probably the most collectible of all the old Corvettes; especially the single model year with the split rear window. I have always loved the looks of a Stingray. With how popular "throwback" bodystyles are right now GM would be smart to bring out a second Corvette model such as this.
One of the best neo-retro design I've seen, including the PGO Speedster (Porsche 356): based on a classic design but could have been designed nowadays from scratch.
Incredibly well-resolved retro rehash; looks like no other. Since it's sleeker than the original yet chunkier than the C6 I like it; it's more muscular and makes the C6 look flabby.
And man...is it gonna sell. About 90% of all corvette lovers, LOVE the '63 body style. Those with a bit of funds will want all the glory of the current Z06 or Base with the body of a 63. Maybe its bastardized, but damn shes sexy...
the rebody world is returning, nice. wish it was not black so the true lines would be expose itself so we could see the design in detail, still, really nice.
