The Nissan Z-cars usually refers to the sportscars manufactured by the brand, this range currently only has one occupant in the form of the 350Z. We already know this model will go slightly upmarket with its new 3.7 liter engine which will see the model renamed as 370Z, thus it leaves a large enough gap in its portfolio to launch a new model.

An entry level rear-wheel-drive sportscar has been stuck in the rumour mill over the last couple of years and these new renderings from Polish designer Iacoski are only likely to stimulate the discussions once again.

Iacoski's love of the old Fairlady inspired him to create a new modern version, the long front bonnet, short rear end and smooth curvaceous roof profile clearly pays homage to the series. Obviously recent Nissan design styles have influenced the renderings, we can clearly see a front fascia mimicking the design of the GT-R.

The ball is now in Nissan's court, but it definitely gets the thumbs up from WCF.

the idea is spot on. the execution is way off the mark. too close to the GTR in my opinion. i hope this design stays in its current 2d form and never sees the light of day. give us something jawdroppingly gorgeous, and bang for buck!

I like it. It looks pretty good. Hope they keep all the of the concept cues at the final production stege. Except for the rims.... Those things look like something off a Doge charger.

it has the same proportions as a porsche ;o i don't quite like it.

by Kepe | August 21, 2008 4:29 PM
the original datsun's had that shape as well, so it really isn't copying Porsche. That being said, lol it still does look like a Porsche with a GTR front end.

I find it very nice, maybe the wheels a bit to big, it will be competition for the S2000, Z4, Boxter,... if it comes out in cabriolet too!

by mc959 | August 21, 2008 4:38 PM
perfect.

hmmmm interesting lol

by carcrazy1234 | August 21, 2008 5:06 PM
Looks weird, but for some reason, I like it. probably because of the GTR styling.

I think its rather handsome. However I must say if you guys remember back in june there was a teaser of a 240sx/silvia http://www.worldcarfans.com/9080609.013/mini1/2010-nissan-240sxsilvia-teaser-image-leaked and I must say I think that is the design they should go with. Its great to have similar design cues from the Skyline GT-R, I feel the 240 should have its own design like in that teaser back in june.

I think its rather hideous. Its bulbous and ugly, not sleek and sexy like a coupe should be. Theres no sense of style. The wheels are ugly and too big, the shape of the lights are stupid and the bonnet is faaar too long.

A fail on all counts in my opinion. Nice try, but no.

by carreralovr | August 21, 2008 6:28 PM
Dear god i hope they make it, the front end is a bit too GT-R though. The original never had anything to do with the Skyline series so why start now. Great idea, and i hope they make it, i'ld probably buy it.

I dont really like it much. It has too much german influance in it. It looks good, but i dont care for the german influence in it. It doesnt looks like a Nissan eventhough it looks like the gtr.

by pzigly | August 21, 2008 7:19 PM
****last sentence:It doesnt look* like a Nissan eventhough it looks like the gtr.

by pzigly | August 21, 2008 8:13 PM
Besides the LED strips under the headlights..... What other sort of "German influence" is there??? I think it's pretty Japanese to me.

by tootall | August 25, 2008 12:52 AM
take a look at the side profile in the rear. german much?

by pzigly | August 26, 2008 9:18 AM
i only hope its not made!!

by sris | August 21, 2008 8:18 PM
Dang it! That grille looks like a Dodge Ram. And what's with the headlights? yikes!!

by sebastianmejia17 | August 21, 2008 9:42 PM
I thought the same thing. Not quite sure what drugs some of the members are on by saying this is a nice looking car :P.

by carreralovr | August 21, 2008 10:12 PM
Please no Nissan!!

by mortz | August 21, 2008 10:30 PM
no, it doesen't look like a GT-R, it looks better, much better. if it has the GT-Rs front, what..it means it looks entirely like the GT-R? just look at the rest of the body, the shape...it is much more attractive. man if this will have at least the same power as the GT-R..in fact, it wont. the name, 240, i think it will have a 2400 cc engine. i hope the japs will make this a bi or at least a single turbo engine, and get some.. 300 horses out of it. this car would sell like hot bread.

Nice car !!!!!

by serraxtrem | August 22, 2008 4:00 PM
bit dissapointing that it is a computer image. if the real thing looks like this then i'll be happy. are new designers working for nissan as all modern ones look great. not sure about the healights though

by great_supercars255 | August 22, 2008 8:34 PM
and the size of the rims

by great_supercars255 | August 22, 2008 8:35 PM
yeah with those rims this couldn't do a turn on a track without cracking a rim

by trevor-k | August 23, 2008 11:08 PM
I love the design...but i do not love the headlights. The inner(hood) edge of the lights is perfect, keeping in line with Nissans current design philosophy but the outside edge to the fender is weirdly sharp at its end and round at its start. Its weird. However overall, the car is godly...i wish it would come out ASAP...if its cheaper than a 350Z than its very well priced sports car.

by Xanavi23 | August 25, 2008 6:00 PM
i want to some rear end renderings to see if it works with the front but as of right now im not feeling it its too close to the gt-r and doesnt look half as good as that

by dk3 | August 26, 2008 11:55 PM

by The_woo_factor | August 28, 2008 1:43 PM
