Lexus has managed to keep this one quiet for a while, but it appears we are going to see the a facelift for it's IS sedan in the not too distant future after scans of the updated model's brochure appeared on forum site my.is.

According to the forum post, modifications will consist of revisions to the side mirrors and front grille, new 17 and 18in alloys, new exterior colors, and a new Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) stability control system. Additional changes can also be seen on the headlights and tail-lights.

Aside from the sedan model, Lexus also have plans to launch Coupe and Convertible variants of the IS, it is expected they will debut sometime next year before their release as 2010 models.

Minor touches to an already nice car. Here in Los Angeles the IS has been a great sales success, you see them everywhere and in equal numbers to their german competitors. I hope changes this slight are enough to keep interest for the rest of its model life - though, if a coupe is really on the way, that's interest-creating marketing right there...

You think THIS is a fake Beemer?!? Have you not seen the new C Class?!? This is good enough to beat most of the Germans in my opinion

Facelift...?

I wouldn't have noticed if it came up to me and bit me in the bottom!

I should have become a car designer. They DON'T appear to do any work!

...Either that or I need to get my eyes tested!

nothing wrong with your eyes. facelifts are never meant to be serious redesigns. its always subtle changes like the light housings and thats it. unless they are controversial designs like the recent bmws who had serious makeovers in bw thanks to the maniac bangle. its also a known fact that cars are designed way ahead of time so im sure the pen ppl are already working on the next IS as we speak. also noticed your note on the pininfarina designer. never heard of the guy but interesting.

That wood on that interior just sticks out like paris hilton's size 11 feet.

Haha...i like that.....car designers dont do much! I think you are right. This car is quite nice. Lexus is good at making the Germans realise their cars are overpriced.

Yes, the IS is quite a nice design.

It is rumoured that the great Leonardo Fioravanti, who worked for Pininfarina during its glory days, designed the IS...

Not that Toyota has ever boasted about this... let's face it, I would be ashamed too if I had to admit (the biggest car company in the world) cannot design cars.
