Having already been on sale around Europe, the Fiat Panda Cross will make its way across the English Channel to the UK. It is based on the Panda 4x4 but offers a better SUV experience with a higher ride height and off-road features.

Power comes from the 70bhp 1.3-liter MultiJet diesel engine which is coupled with the Panda's four-wheel drive system giving the model amongst the best fuel economy figures on the market, urban lies at 42.1 mpg, extra urban at 67.3 mpg and 54.3 combined. Standard exterior features include round light units front and rear, chunky side protection strips in contrasting colours, roof-bars, 15-inch alloy wheels and new bumpers.

The Panda Cross is available from dealers immediately at an on-the-road price of £11,995.

Is that car deliberately made to look pitty to make money on human commiseration?
