Infiniti Announces G37 Convertible, G37 Sedan and G37x AWD for 2009 (US)
The American market is getting a much anticipated Infiniti G range upgrade for the 2009 model year. Already available in Europe, although with less horsepower, the G35 sedan gets the new 328-hp 3.7-liter V6 engine – now designated G37 Sedan. Also available in Europe, the G37 Coupe for North America gets all-wheel-drive – now designated G37x. And yet again, Europe lends the new 7-speed automatic transmission for all North American Infiniti G models.
However, the really big news, which does not come from Europe, is the addition of an all-new Infiniti G37 Convertible model. The G37 Convertible makes its public debut in Los Angeles this November with sales starting in the first quarter of 2009. The 2009 G37 Sedan goes on sale in September 2008 as well as the G37x AWD.

Is the G37x 2door? I surely hope they finally have an awd 2door car on the market sometime soon.
Surly they would bring out a 2 door with the atessa all wheel drive system, wouldn't surprise me if a turner strapped a couple of the r35 GT-R turbos on the the 3.7l that's already producing 328hp, it would be a weapon. Here the 2007 skyline 370gt produces 333hp that's not bad considering the 2001+ skylines don't come out turbo charged any more. but lack the atessa eta all wheel drive system, this would give people who can not afford the GT-R a cheaper option with updated skyline performance,
you cant do that. Its a different engine. You would have to drop the engine of the GTR also and I dont think thats an easy thing to do. The VQ series do not like turbos on them. If you want you can drop the older 300zx engine and tune it to 500-600 hp easy. it would cost much less and be reliable.
the g37 sedan is the worst looking g37... it just doesnt look good
@pzigly
The VQ ain't the toyota GR engine. There is no problem tuning them they are better and lighter than the old VG. There are lots of company's that all ready have got 600bhp out of the VQ37VHR.
thats what i thought too. Ive seen them turbo charged but i dont think its as reliable as the other engines that can be turboed by nissan. U cant just bolt on the GTR turbos cuz it is not the same engine.
FYI datsuns were supposed to be called nissans but nissan was afraid to change the name even before the 60's.
Toyotas build quality used to be so bad that when they first arrived to the US they had to be sent back.
And all 911 porsches have evolved from bugs. So technically you should call it turbo bug.
I really dont see the point y people keep calling them Datsuns still. Everyone starts from the bottom. This car is more exciting than some manufacturers entire line up.
yes ur very insightful. thank you for your intelligent comment........
"And yet again, Europe lends the new 7-speed automatic transmission for all North American Infiniti G models."
Isn't the 7speed automatic asian first? i.e. Lexus, cough cough toyota.
Hey pzigly, hows your altima going is it very economical? i was looking into a new skyline with the 8 speed tiptronic but think ill settle for the Nissan stagea X FOUR 2004 it comes with the 2.5v6 Di and 5 speed tiptronic and standard 220hp but most of all this model has the atessa awd system that's optional via switch, the stagea is the station wagon version of the skyline they also come out in a turbo charged awd set up but standard models are rwd. you should have a look at the selection here check out trademe nz and search Nissan theres all ages of skylines and the new GT-R.
Theres a nissan skyline gt8 here with 8speed tiptronic. and that comes in some 2002 models and later.
the stagea is kind of big though. I would get the GT8 eventhough its hard to turbo them you can still get like 350 hp out of them or a little more without turbo. I think it should out handle the stagea
I really like Infiniti, they make nice cars. The G37 is really hot.
If i get the GT8 i will proberly leave it stock but i need the room of the stagea for my business and hunting and fishing trips etc, but ill try and convince my wife that having two nissans with v6s is realy an ethical move and then ill take the gt8 when i don't need the stagea and have some fun!!!

it is big news because they are getting a non detuned version of the 3.7. The EU version only make's 320hp.
