Audi's RS6 Avant with its 580 bhp 5.0-liter FSI twin turbo V10 engine is the most powerful car ever produced by the marque and tuning specialist, Motoren Technik Mayer GmbH (MTM) from Wettstetten, Germany has got a performance focused tuning package which boost the performance of this super-fast station wagon even more.

With electronic ECU modifications only, MTM engineers have boosted power to 656 bhp at 6,180 rpm. Upon request from the customer, MTM has the ability to electronically regulate top speed in increments of either 279, 290 or 310 km/h. Torque grows to 785 Nm from the standard 650 Nm, allowing zero to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds (standard 4.6 sec) - vertebrae crushing power all for only 3,999 EUR.

Adding onto this entry-level package, MTM is currently preparing an even bigger one. By adding a stainless steel exhaust system with throttle control downstream from the catalytic converter and a sports air filter and additional 46 bhp is conjured for a total of 702 bhp. This kit is available for 9,950 EUR.

MTM has taken a reserved styling approach, which includes a carbon-fiber front spoiler lip and a carbon-fiber rear diffuser. Also, six-piston monoblock brake calipers with slotted brake disks are available for the front, plus sport dampners. Rounding out the sports suite are 21" MTM bimoto wheels.

MTM offers this entire suite of compoents for the RS6 R which includes power-boosted engine, modified breathing, exhaust system, suspension struts and 21-inch wheels for a package price starting from 15,500 EUR.

MTM RS6 R with a massive 702 bhp!

The fastest Audi Avant

  • Engine versions with up to 702 bhp and 785 Nm
  • 20 und 21" “bimoto” alloy wheels
  • Uprated braking system
  • Front spoiler lip and rear diffuser from carbon fiber
  • Outstanding performance data

The new Audi RS6 innately impresses discerning customers thanks to its high-powered twin turbo V10 engine with 5.0 l displacement. Only a short while after the car’s market launch, MTM, the Audi specialist from Wettstetten near Ingolstadt, Germany, already has performance kits in its program, which boost the performance of this super-fast station wagon.

For instance, the MTM engineers boost the engine power electronically to 656 bhp at 6,180 rpm. If need be, the MTM-RS6 R will run upon request (MTM regulates the increments electronically) at speeds of either 279, 290 or 310 km/h. The outstanding torque of now 785 Nm (production version 650 Nm) allows it to accelerate like lightning from zero to 100 km/h in an impressive 3.9 seconds. Price: € 3999.

An advanced version of the MTM performance kit is in preparation, which, with a massive 702 bhp, even outshines the performance data of most super sports cars. This additional boost in performance is made possible thanks to a stainless steel exhaust system with throttle control downstream from the catalytic converter and a sports air filter. The 702 bhp kit (plus MTM guarantee) is available for € 9950.

This super-fast behemoth is stopped with the aid of the six-piston braking system MTM fits at the front that features grooved (=not perforated all the way through) brake disks in the dimension 405x36 mm and monoblock brake calipers.

‘Reserved appearance obliges’: hence, the only embellishments MTM makes to the sporty design of the RS6 is to add a discreet carbon-fiber front spoiler lip and a carbon-fiber rear diffuser, which serve to accentuate the elegant styling of the Audi RS6.

The exclusive sports suite from MTM for the Audi RS6 is rounded off by the large 21" MTM bimoto wheel rims in 10.5 x 21", which are available in the finishes “shiny” or “diamond-cut”, and which MTM also offers in conjunction with size 285/30ZR21 tires. As an alternative, MTM offers its bimoto wheel rim also as the new, forged 20 inch version. Fitting forged alloy wheels, which are lighter in weight compared with cast alloy wheels, enhances both the agility and braking performance of this powerful station wagon.

MTM offers this combination of a power-boosted engine, modified breathing, exhaust system, suspension struts and 21" wheels for a package price starting from € 15,500.

The stock RS6 looks better and already have enough power.

by bernardo | July 31, 2008 7:04 PM
whats that for kind of reply on a tuning topic -.-

by JarFreak | September 14, 2008 4:37 PM
Sheesh, talk about overpowered Estates...

by Tuner_Mad | July 31, 2008 7:11 PM
I love it, theres no such thing as too much power, especially in a quality 4WD system. Clearly the stock RS6 is now the worlds fastest Wagon/Estate.

by Xanavi23 | July 31, 2008 7:52 PM
I don't know what you mean by "now", the RS6 was always the fastest Wagon/Estate. My opinion is that this car is only good for d*ck measuring contests. :(

by ShinyG | July 31, 2008 9:30 PM
says the man with the small d*ck. You'd be all for em if you were well endowed. Or in this case, if you had a 700hp station wagon lol.

earthquaker

by w00d00 | July 31, 2008 9:34 PM
what`s wrong with such contests? :D

by catchmyshadow | July 31, 2008 10:09 PM
it's about how you can handle a power (or your d*ck) lol. ;)

by driv3r | August 1, 2008 8:52 AM
fast!!!!!!!!!!!

by mmr66 | July 31, 2008 10:32 PM
as if people are complaining about the power... this thing weighs SO much. with what 580 it used to have, it still had trouble carrying that massive weight. Probably not any trouble but 700 hp is where its at. that's MORE than enough power now considering its weight. :D:D

by carcrazy1234 | July 31, 2008 11:22 PM
I dont even want to comment this! DA BOMB!!!!!!

by audinick | August 1, 2008 12:17 AM
0-100km/h in 3.9 seconds doesn't sound too impressive when you need 656bhp to do it.

by AG4 | August 1, 2008 3:48 AM
Everyone is complaining about the weight. It is a modern mid-sized estate with a V10! This isn't your 1990's Civic or Hyundai Accident. With every conceivable luxury and brilliant Quattro AWD, yes, it weighs in at two hundred pounds over its competitors. But when you think of that as only half a red-state American, it really doesn't enter the equation. Or, rather, there are other more significant factors that hamper performance. If Canada became overrun with communists and I was told I may only have one car... *sigh* If only.

by Bremen_Koenigsegg | August 1, 2008 4:23 AM
dude get your facts straight. This car weighs in at 4,464lbs, a ford escape is 3,272lbs, a full sized suv ford explorer is 4,632lbs, chevy silverado is 4,448lbs, even a dodge ram is only 4,551lbs

by joe_limon | August 1, 2008 7:33 AM
What is your point? So it's heavy. That doesn't make my point any less valid -- it is still bloody powerful. There are other factors that hamper performance; I don't understand why everyone gets so worked up over weight. Why not aerodynamic drag? Why not rolling resistance? Maximum power and torque figures only give us part of the story. This is an incredibly versatile, incredibly manly chunk of machine forged from pure testosteranium. So please, let's not bring up Fords and Chevys; they dilute the fervour.

"Hey, hey, hey, check this out... It's MTM's new RS6 R... Need to get the in-laws to the airport, before they miss there flight??? Have no fear, the RS6 R is here! Having guest over for dinner in about an hour and you have not purchased the groceries?!?!?!? Well don't you worry, because the RS6 R can have you there and back, faster than you can say VRRROOOOOMMMMMM!!!! And what's that?? Little Tommy needs a lift to football pratice, but first, you need to pick up baby Lisa from the day care center, before they start charging double by the hour?!?!? Don't dispair.... Take the RS6 R! It will do it all at the speed of light. With it's stock engine of 580 hp, beefed up to a frightening 656 hp (soon to be 702 hp), ordinary everyday errands can now be accomplished in an instant!!!!" LOL! I tell you what.... The people at MTM are just plain loco! These guys obviously have never heard the phrase "enough is enough". LOL! But I like it though, nice work. :)

by tootall | August 1, 2008 7:22 AM
Well I can tell you what happens to the passengers at back seats. They will be choked up by the time it reaches to airport and either die in the aircraft or sent to be hospitalised and stay for days.

Oh don't forget that they will crap their pants and mess up the backseat with vomit, pisses and rubbishes.

Who the hell has started this absolutely rediculous competition anyway?

by samuelzeus | August 1, 2008 9:42 AM
@tootall

Very jeremy clarkson, but you missed one tiny point...

PPPPPPOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRR

by Jamie.matthews | August 1, 2008 11:44 PM
...of course 700 hp sounds really good..but why do you need a 500 hp - 700 hp estate ?...only to scare the s**t of your in laws ?...

by phobos | August 1, 2008 8:31 AM
Thats what I said..for a WAGON 580hp is plenty..but for the sedan however..please 700hp.

by bernardo | August 1, 2008 4:26 PM
Its funny how haters talk about cars like this being for small-d**ked individuals. First off, if any of you could afford this car like the people who do buy it can aside from their numerous sportscars then you wouldn't be talking trash. 2nd, even if it is a mine is bigger than your competition, you guys need to reach down and grab your nutsacks; MAN has been competiting like this for THOUSANDS of years. Not with cars but always with something. That said, im not saying this car is only good for said competition but other things.

3rd this car is great, this is a great car for well-off people who REALLY want something incredibly fast but for wtv reason, family, wife etc have to have a large "many people" seater. This is the solution, you can carry 5 people EASILY, as well as much cargo and at the same time it can do 0-100 in 4.0 seconds. Its the perfect solution for a rich family man.

I love this wagon. POWER!!! I am reckon this wagon can kick M3 V8 ASS, in straight line.

by American-Rules | August 1, 2008 3:57 PM
Hey boys and girls...let's keep the conversations above the waist line ok?

by The_woo_factor | August 1, 2008 5:08 PM
the boys in detroit have no answer for the big boy wagons from europe

by carfan58 | August 1, 2008 9:23 PM
lets say dodge took the viper engine, and plumbed it into the awd magnum, would it sell? yes. would it sell well? nope, American car companies haven't cornered the high end wealthy guy who wants everything market as well as the Europeans. That being said, look back 40 years in American car history and you will find some very powerful for the time station wagons.

by joe_limon | August 2, 2008 1:14 AM
I'll bet if you go even further back they had some pretty kickass four-horse-drawn buggies, too. Optional canvas roof on select models.

by Bremen_Koenigsegg | August 3, 2008 1:05 AM
Magnum SRT-8...does the 1/4mile in about high 12s which is pretty fast by any standards it also costs about a 1/3rd of this cars price.

by Xanavi23 | August 3, 2008 1:50 AM
Mr. Limon, you may be on to something there. A Viper engine in the Magnum just might be the answer. either that, or some major tuning on the current power plants. Really though, it just may work. Now, about those high end wealthy Americans.......

by tootall | August 3, 2008 3:28 AM
The oil is running out guys. So what you all really need is a good fang in a 1960s Lotus Elan. All this power power power is NOT where it's at any more. Cars Like this Audi are like the last groan of a dying T-Rex - smaller, lighter, faster... bring it on.

by Lutzie | August 3, 2008 1:09 PM
You're right but why do you think some car companies are having last blast horsepower wars ? Because with the new engine technologies that will sooner or later be the mainstay of the car-market there won't be horsepower wars again for a long time.

So what do we do even though we cant afford these beasts? We still watch a damn good show, at least until its gone. Whats going on right now is like the Dodge Charger from the 60s; The oil and insurance was very expensive by about '70 but the Charger was one of the very few cars that still offered high power(380+) up until its death in about '74~(give or take). Yea it was the T-Rex that was still walking/living after most of its food was depleted. However, it was STILL a T-Rex until its death and as such you give Dodge credit.

by Xanavi23 | August 4, 2008 5:54 AM
The cars reflect there companies PROFITS.
