Prince Marcus Eberhard Edward of Anhalt, Duke of Saxony and Westphalia, Count of Askania, well known for his jetsetting and international tabledance club chain “Pure Platinum” as well as extensive supercar collection has taken the displeasure of severely cracking his orange Gemballa Porsche Carrera GT at the famous Paul Ricard racing circuit in France.

Next time you ask yourself, who has the money or inclination to buy a Porsche Carrera GT worth €500,000 in addition to Gemballa's €225,000 tuning package, think of this guy!

Ahh, poor guy.

by Bremen_Koenigsegg | July 24, 2008 4:05 PM
not exactly ... he just trashed a Euro 725,000 worth of Porsche's finest . money to burn ???

by THERENAISSANCEMAN | July 24, 2008 4:30 PM
what is it with Carrera GTs and unfortunate mishaps; first Hamilton's dad takes an unplanned off-road adventure and now Lord Sauerkraut trys to destroy his beautiful orange (sarcasm) GT. Buy an Aston.

by wills2007 | July 24, 2008 4:16 PM
Astons like to swim from some time...

by afterace2 | July 25, 2008 5:55 PM
Ah. Another fully paid-up member of the More Money Than Talent Brigade :D

by Late_Braker | July 24, 2008 4:16 PM
Haha! True!

by carreralovr | July 25, 2008 11:35 AM
He wont even care, he'll get it fixed, or buy another, and just do it again.

by Voss | July 24, 2008 4:18 PM
this car is clearly not for anyone to drive

by Bakrione | July 24, 2008 4:26 PM
He destroyed the car much earlier. This disgusting orange is everywhere! Look at wheels and brakes!

by Wojtek | July 24, 2008 4:34 PM
makes me wonder if the Carrera GT is not as neutral handling as that of a regular Boxster , after all that spate of mishaps .

by THERENAISSANCEMAN | July 24, 2008 4:36 PM
I wish I could feel sorry for the mate, but it isn't like he earned the auto through hard work. He already had his money without working for it.

Naye, not a bloody tear from me mate.

by Nurchus | July 24, 2008 4:42 PM
he's not a prince!

he bought the title!!! please do your research before posting...

by smokeonit1 | July 24, 2008 4:48 PM
Yikes, thats sad.

Funny I haven't heard someone say 'it will buff out' yet. But still, 700k gone down the drain...

by Tuner_Mad | July 24, 2008 4:56 PM
It can buff out. :)

Cheers!!

by Nurchus | July 24, 2008 5:07 PM
Why the GAY colour though ..

by Goldfinger | July 24, 2008 5:10 PM
Gemballa uses all kinds of colours they can find for their cars. =P

by Tuner_Mad | July 24, 2008 5:18 PM
It looks so out of place , like , someone with no sense would buy a car this colour, it has come and rob me all over it lol.

by Goldfinger | July 24, 2008 5:36 PM
This just makes me furious, and the guy has the balls to laugh about it, it's people like this that I wish I could just shoot them and I'd laugh about it when the police bust me. Hell I probably get a pat on the back after they hear why I did it.

by dmanero | July 24, 2008 5:31 PM
Serves that douchebag right. that's for buying your lastname and being a dumbshit. feel sorry for the car though...

by Babuschka | July 24, 2008 5:34 PM
this guy is a gloating bighead and the scum of the earth, bought his titles, made his money by forcing eastern women to become prostitutes. shame that he drives such safe cars.

by catchmyshadow | July 24, 2008 5:42 PM
Why? A paint sale of course. Why are there so many pink houses in Tijuana? Ask anyone that lives in a pink house or drives a pastel orange car and they'll tell you it's a statement. Paint sale none the less though. =]

by l3fty | July 24, 2008 5:44 PM
Somebody's keyed it.

by Straiyan | July 24, 2008 6:02 PM
I am surprised no one commented on the cheap plastic looking exhaust pipes

by joe_limon | July 24, 2008 6:19 PM
cuz they aren't cheap (even if they do look like plastic) and they also make one of the most beautiful sounds ever made comming from an even more beautiful porsche V10.

by carcrazy1234 | July 24, 2008 7:20 PM
1. at least he was at a track 2. this car is very hard to handle even for a race car driver... this guy just can't drive and just went over his OWN limits in a car that has "limits" lol 3. i hate this guy :P haha

by carcrazy1234 | July 24, 2008 7:21 PM
The Exhausts look cheap.

Happy now?

by Tuner_Mad | July 24, 2008 7:22 PM
They dont even make Carrera GT's anymore, so I hope this can be fixed...

by TSLi | July 24, 2008 7:34 PM
This is a write-off. They have spare parts for the standard Carrera GT, but this version is very rare. He'll just have to settle with something else.

by Tuner_Mad | July 24, 2008 7:56 PM
This guys an idiot. In life theres a golden rule..."You must first learn to walk before you can run". Every driver has to test, test, test and gradually raise his limits before he should even PONDER pushing this kind of machine anywhere near its limit. The cars amazing and now the poor girl(the car not him) has to go through a decent repair job. What an asshole.

by xanavi23 | July 24, 2008 8:17 PM
I dont see the problem? yes he cracked up his car but that car is a hard car to manage anyway... he did it in a controlled circumstance, and yes while he does have money to fix it why bash the guy for it? Its on the same scale if you brought your WRX STi to the track and crashed it, dont hate because you cant own one. I commend him for actually driving it, alot of people would shove it in a garage and let it rot he is getting full use out of it because first and foremost its a car. Good for him i say.

by e55amgowner | July 24, 2008 8:58 PM
Well said. I don't like the color, even have questions why you would want to modify a perfect car. And I don't know the guy so no comment on his personal background. But that's besides the point. He used it in the right circumstances. It's already clear the Carrera GT is not an easy car, after Gemballa is through with it, I don't think it will be much stabler. So he made a mistake somewhere. I think many of you made mistakes with far more sedate cars!

My reaction: 'what a shame.'

And about him laughing? So what, you want him to cry forever now? Get real.

by Get_Real | July 24, 2008 10:14 PM
You're right man...i dont know about anyone else but i was a bit outta line. Driving a Mirage isn't easily done even by the pro's. I shouldn't hate on him cause he has money either....like i would have minded being born into royalty. The good thing is that he is rich...so this car will be resurrected.

by xanavi23 | July 25, 2008 12:23 AM
Looks like a tire blew out and he lost control. That was one gorgeous looking GT! Only live once, huh? lol

by RobERob | July 24, 2008 10:09 PM
There's no way the tyre blew - look at the chunk taken out of the rim. He lost it and spun 720 degrees, twunting both ends in the process... no doubt as a result of 'diesel' on the track...

What that bloke needs is a course at www.carlimits.com :D

by Late_Braker | July 24, 2008 11:42 PM
Dear God, that's a face that could launch a thousand Hummers... Looks like he fell out of the Ugly Tree and hit every branch!

by Schadenfreude | July 24, 2008 11:22 PM
Being rich and skill-less is so sad! Skill is something that money can buy and with the right teacher, almost any Joe can learn to drive. This guy is definitely not smart if he thought he could handle a Carrera GT without proper driving skills...

by ShinyG | July 24, 2008 11:29 PM
Just because he lost it doesnt mean he is lacking talent, sometimes outside forces cause an accident, As you know in a race even professionals loose it. Your a dumb @$$ if you think its just because he is rich and can buy a expensive car. He has had more seat time in exotics in a day then you probably ever will in your life, and with that he gains experience. When on the track anyone is more apt to push the limits, he found his at a cost thats all. Just thank god he didnt get injured. Your all dumb for bashing him for crashing a car, he didnt do anything wreckless, didn't endanger lives and did it on a track, more than what some of you immature civic owners can say.

by e55amgowner | July 25, 2008 2:51 AM
First, thanks for the insult! Second, I don't think its just because he is rich and can buy a expensive car. I think it's because he is rich, he bought and expensive car and probably has no idea how to drive it! I already mentioned that, don't interpret my words just because it fits your "dumb***" impression of me. Last, thanks for generalizing the "dumb" to everybody. I also learned from your incredible intellect that everybody is also a Civic owner if they express disapproval idiots crashing expensive sports car. Trust me, I would have bashed him if it were my next door neighbour with his cheap-a** Civic...

by ShinyG | July 26, 2008 9:27 PM
aston? hmmm wonder how many dbs' have been wrecked on the new bond movie sets. i prefer the porsches

by michelin901 | July 24, 2008 11:37 PM
More dollars than sense?

by qmj | July 25, 2008 4:06 AM
Gotta agree with E55AMG here..i was an asshole too, but we only rip on him cause we envy him. He drives probably one of the greatest cars ever built and regardless of this accident probably quite well.

I watch alot of racing and even the proffessionals make mistakes and smash cars on similar circuits...and thats using even BETTER top of the line rubber, suspension and downforce. If we're to say this guy has no skill or is a loser....then by the same logic we should sneer at every driver in ALMS, FIA GT, goes on and on.

by xanavi23 | July 25, 2008 4:06 AM
He doesnt look too upset

by kevoluetion | July 25, 2008 4:20 AM
Probably because the funds for it to be fully repaired are ready within an hour.

by xanavi23 | July 25, 2008 6:23 AM
That will buff right out

by EJ255 | July 25, 2008 7:48 AM
What a shame!..
